Off all the way? Door open with the hall light on? Whatever their choice, kids are in control with the ElectroPUFF, a colorful five-inch pom pom light dimmer from Seattle-based company International Fashion Machines. The ElectroPUFF uses the company’s patented technology that combines electronic yarns and materials directly into fabric – in this case, recycled carpet fibers. The result is a soft ball that’s safe and stain resistant to boot. The ElectroPUFF comes in a variety of bright hues and attaches to any incandescent lamp. Just plug the lamp into the puff’s wiring and the puff’s wiring into the wall. Then, let the kids have fun tap-tap-tapping the puff to change the level of light given off from their bedside lamp. The puff is the first in International Fashion Machines’ line of electronic textile products designed just for kids, but all of their unique products, including the Pom Pom Wall Dimmer, are appealing to the whole family. We love that this high-design little gizmo is kid-sized, comes in vibrant colors, and is surely more useful than anything else that’s so much fun to touch and hold. Just a little brighter, please. ElectroPUFF, $32.99 each. Available online.
