It’s rainy. And the kiddos are literally bouncing off the walls, the furniture, and anything else they can make into a nifty launch pad. Long gone are the days of cuddling up next to a warm fire and reading a good book on a cold winter’s day. It’s time to get the kiddos out of the house and burn off some serious energy–stat! Lucky for us, there are several indoor play spaces where kiddos can go crazy. But if you’re looking for a space where your high-flyin’ daredevil can jump, bounce, and even flip, we’ve put together a list of six places (both in the city and beyond) where kiddos can get some serious air! Seattle The School of Acrobatics & New Circus Arts (SANCA) In addition to juggling, tumbling, and intro circus classes, this fab school offers beginning trampoline classes for kids (ages seven and older) as well as family circus classes for kids over the age of six. During a family class, you and your kids will receive trampoline lessons from an experienced instructor as well lessons in acrobatics, aerial (trapeze and rope), juggling, tightwire, and rolling globe. All classes meet once a week for 12-weeks and include 55-minutes of high-energy fun under a real big top! Seattle Gymnastics Academy The indoor playground at SGA is the perfect place for lil’ jumpers (ages 12 months to 5 years) to catch some air! Bonus: If little ones get tired of bouncing and jumping, they can use other gymnastics equipment available during this special session. To avoid a toddler meltdown in the lobby (especially is you arrive a few minutes after the hour or half-hour), brief your little one prior to your arrival and bring something to keep him occupied in the lobby. Eat before you go and pack plenty of snacks and drinks for the car ride home! North of Seattle Elevated Sportz This new trampoline park (which opened its doors in December) is your one-stop spot for high-flying fun! Kiddos (ages three and up) can experience 10,000 square feet of wall-to-wall rebounding fun including a huge foam pit, a basketball court, a 3-D dodgeball court, and a main jumping court. Bonus: Elevated Sportz is home to the largest soft indoor play space in Washington so when the kiddos get tired of bouncing, flipping, and jumping, they can hit the over-the-top play structure! South of Seattle Trampoline Nation If you’re looking for a trampoline park where your kiddo can throw down some serious moves, Trampoline Nation is worth the drive south! With court names like launch zone, trick nation, half-pipe, and dunk nation, it’s easy to tell why this 12,000 square foot park appeals to both big kids and little kids. Trampoline Nation also has a special zone designed for their littlest jumpers (under 70 pounds and 44 inches) to try out a few tricks of their own. Trampoline Nation holds special kids-only dodgeball games. Call ahead for dates and times. No outside food or drink is allowed in the park. However, kids under the age of 5 can bring their own water bottle and a small (non-messy) snack. Insider Tips: Complete the liability waiver online before you go to speed up your entry time.
