Olympic sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce surprised everyone when she raced at her son’s school Sports Day—and destroyed the competition, of course

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is a name that’s basically synonymous with speed. The four-time Olympian has won a casual three gold medals, with countless other accolades to her name. And now, she has a new award: fastest mom on the playground by, like, a LOT.

It’s not exactly surprising she’d win that, all things considered. But Fraser-Pryce shared an adorable memory to her Facebook page about when she participated in Sports Day at her five-year-old son’s school, and if we were in her shoes, we would have also taken to the track and smoked all those other moms just like she did.

“Last Friday was Sports Day at Zyon’s school!! I feel like I’ve been waiting all my life for this moment 😂,” Fraser-Pryce wrote. “I initially had no intention of running in the parent race — even my coach advised me not to run but my teammates weren’t doing so hot.”

She explained how Zyon fell in his race, and after getting back up, managed to secure a bronze medal. Her husband, Jason, didn’t even place in the male-parent race.

“And as an Olympian, it just didn’t make sense for us to leave without bringing home a single piece of gold 🥇 so I decided to race,” she wrote. “We ended up getting two bronze medals, overall 4th place, a participation medal and a first place medal in the women’s parent race to redeem the Pryce family name

🤣
All in all I’m SO proud of my son and happy he enjoyed sports day.”

Fraser-Pryce also headed over to Instagram to share a sweet video highlight reel of the whole family at Sports Day.

Oh, and another parent captured this video of Fraser-Pryce running in the Moms’ race, and oof.

Whichever mom got second should probably just count that as a W, because none of them ever had a chance. But as long as everyone had a fun day, that’s all that matters.
