Go Play! 7 of East County’s Best Parks

Climb a tree or swing through the air at these East County parks.

There’s nothing quite like the rush of cool wind through the hair and warmth of the sun on your face. Pretty soon, your kiddo reaches higher and higher toward the sky and they feel like you’re flying! If your kiddo wants nothing more than an afternoon playing on the swings at the park, then take them outside for some fresh air and fun. We’ve rounded up East County’s best parks for a playdate, birthday party or a scooter ride. Click through the slideshow to see where your next playdate awaits!

Lake Murray Community Park

This nature-inspired playground is only a few years old. Climb the leaf steps or logs, enjoy the climbing rocks and a variety of slides and monkey bars. Spin the kids as fast as you can on the merry-go-round to tire them out, then have a seat in the shade on the benches perfect for just watching. You'll find parking on the street, but no bathroom. Send kids on a potty break before coming here. The huge grassy spaces are perfect for soccer games, blowing bubbles or games of tag. Spot the ducks at the lake or take the stroller and new baby for a spin around Lake Murray for a great workout.
