Go Play! 7 of East County’s Best Parks

Climb a tree or swing through the air at these East County parks.

There’s nothing quite like the rush of cool wind through the hair and warmth of the sun on your face. Pretty soon, your kiddo reaches higher and higher toward the sky and they feel like you’re flying! If your kiddo wants nothing more than an afternoon playing on the swings at the park, then take them outside for some fresh air and fun. We’ve rounded up East County’s best parks for a playdate, birthday party or a scooter ride. Click through the slideshow to see where your next playdate awaits!

West Hills Park

A quiet park on weekdays, this gem offers a terrific spot for a birthday party. You’ll feel safe with wandering toddlers at this mostly fenced in playground. An adjacent playground for bigger kids has fun climbing ropes, monkey bars, and a variety of slides. In between the two play areas is a covered gazebo with benches so you can comfortably watch the kids and relax. A covered picnic area has tons of seating, two BBQs, and a clean restroom, making it a perfect place to set up for a party, rain or shine. A sand volleyball court and grassy area offers a lot of fun for a family game or a treasure hunt for wee ones.
