The New Children’s Museum takes its motto “Think, Play, Create” into the kitchen by offering Eat Better Art Cooking Classes throughout the year. Age-appropriate recipes and activities range from Valentine’s treats to Superhero snacks. The Center for a Healthy Lifestyle and The Good Food Factory
This hidden gem offers a cornucopia of cooking class options. Their Farm to Table classes, camps, Girl Scout visits, and homeschool series will have you coming back for seconds and thirds. The center is also home to The Good Food Factory, whose wildly popular after school classes for young chefs ages 5-12 will have your child mastering the Art of French Cooking and saying “S’il vous plait” to even more classes.

Montevalle Community Center – Make, Bake and Take Classes
The Make, Bake and Take classes offered at this Chula Vista community center are a great start for your young chef to learn how to cook. Students not only try new recipes, but they learn kitchen etiquette, cleanliness, and measurements. Kids leave with a delicious treat to take home and share with their family once a week during each 5-week session.

Secret Ingredient: Class sessions are offered with every new season for year-round cooking fun. So if your kiddo is bummed the spring session is over, don’t fret! New classes start in summer and again in fall.

Cost: $40/resident; $49/non-resident per session (ages 5-12). A $20 cash supply fee is due to the instructor on the first day of class.
