Meet Stroller Strides founder Lisa Druxman who at first glance, seems nothing like us — she is an accomplished speaker, author, and fitness expert who earned her Master’s Degree from San Diego State University. But, underneath Lisa’s amazing bod is a mompreneur who faces the same challenges as any working mom with kids. We recently sat down with Lisa to get her insights about living in San Diego, her advice to other working moms, and her favorite spots to eat and play. For other working moms out there like yourself, do you have any advice on how to best reconcile your career, family, and own personal passions? You can never get everything done. I pick 3 most important things to get done in each category of my life. It’s important to focus on what’s most important. I believe that baby steps can get you anywhere that you want to go. If I make a small step of progress, I’m happy! What’s the best thing about living in your neighborhood? The community. People come to San Elijo because they love that old town feel. You can walk to the town square, to school, to the local coffee shop. My kids can go to any neighbor to play. The people care so much about the community and the schools. You can just feel it! Describe your perfect day in San Diego with your family. Easy! I try to make it a goal to just touch our toes to the ocean, even if weather is bad or we are short on time. A layer of stress comes off me the moment I smell the ocean air. We are so lucky to live close to the beach so I want to appreciate it. From there, my best San Diego day is just being outside. Watching my kids ride bikes, hiking Torrey Pines, working in my garden. All equal happy for me! Where do you like to go eat out with kids in-tow? For pizza, Blackstone! For Sushi, Love Boat. For breakfast and lunch, Naked Cafe!!! Can you fill our readers in about what’s in your bag right now? Any can’t-live-without mom products or accessories? Funny. My iphone and my laptop, lipgloss, a hair tie, a journal with colorful pens. And one small vial of essential oil which I regularly need to smell to relax! Wow, I can’t think of any special products right now. I can’t live without my iPhone but that’s like old news! Be sure to check out all of Stroller Strides’ sweet programs by clicking here.
