The first teaser trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is here, and fans are going to love this

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were an absolutely crucial part of any millennial’s upbringing. But if you remember the Ninja Turtles of the ’90s, you might recall that they did not look, sound, or act much like teenagers. Sure, there was their pizza obsession; though, let’s be real, fully grown men can be just as into pizza. Other than that, they were pretty much Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This summer, there’s a new TMNT movie coming, and the first teaser trailer just dropped. The first thing we noticed? These turtles actually act like teenagers, and it’s hilarious.

The entire first half of the video is spent with them on a rooftop, using swords and ninja stars to slice fruit—all while recording it on a phone, of course.

Don’t worry—they also do still fight crime. But they do it with all the mishaps you’d expect from teenagers—like when Donatello gets a ricocheted knife stuck the tiniest bit into his thigh and screams dramatically for several minutes. Teens are gonna teen.

The movie features an absolutely stacked cast. Hannibal Buress, Nicolas Cantu, John Cena, Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Post Malone, and Maya Rudolph are among those lending their voices to the characters, and the movie is produced by self-proclaimed “perpetual teenager” Seth Rogen. Needless to say, we think this one will be worth seeing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will hit theaters nationwide on Aug. 4.
