If there’s any time to start thinking about vacation, the holidays are it. Whether you’re dreaming of a break from the cold, thinking of an absolutely epic gift, or just need to get away after the whirlwind of the season, it’s hard for travel to not be on all our minds. And when we say Villa La Valencia Beach Resort & Spa in Los Cabos, Mexico delivers the ultimate epic gift/break from the cold/just need a getaway vacation of your dreams, we speak from first-hand experience.
Located on the stunning Golden Beach in Los Cabos, Mexico, Villa La Valencia is one of the newest all-inclusive resorts in the area. And in a location filled with resorts, the only way to stand out is by being…well, the best. And they are.
When You Arrive…
From the second you step onto the property, you know you’re officially on vacation (of course, the full-service beach-inspired bar ready to serve you as soon as you walk outside of the Los Cabos airport helps, too). The clean, bright, wide-open expanse of the lobby includes the La Jolla Bar and an unbelievable view of the rooms, pools, and ocean (along with seating to enjoy that view).
Every single staff member we met smiled with a hand over their heart (a signature of The Villa Group’s properties). We were guided through the check-in, and given our wristbands to wear during our stay that serve as both room keys and access to all the amenities (how easy is that?).
Speaking of Amenities…
The first thing you’ll notice (we’re pretty sure everyone does) is the collection of pools that span all the way to the beach. A serene adults-only pool, complete with cabanas, leads into the ultimate family pool featuring kiddo-friendly depths and lots of seating. Want to get a little closer to the beach? The infinity pool at the edge of the property is what resort life is all about.
Each pool offers poolside service from the relaxed Coralle Pool Bar & Restaurant, located right next to the infinity pool, along with a hot tub in each space. And, of course, there’s beach access with private lounging and food service.
But the real star of the show? The unbelievable lazy river that wraps around the whole interior of the property. Float for a lap or two, or relax as long as you want—it’s the longest lazy river in Cabo. Everyone is welcome.
Villa La Valencia’s amenities don’t stop there. A wellness and fitness center offers a hydrotherapy circuit. The Azul Spa onsite features luxury massages and facials, body treatments, and even the option to have your in-room bathtub turned into a private spa experience. We highly recommend the After-Sun Treatment if you find yourself a little red (it’s really easy to forget to reapply sunscreen when you’re floating that lazy river. Trust us.).
Welcome to Your Room
Each of Villa La Valencia’s 308 suites is ultra-comfortable, spacious, and complete with either a pool or ocean view (to enjoy on the furnished balcony, of course). They offer accommodations for couples, families, and groups up to 12 people. A soaking tub, rain shower, and twin vanity mean every part of your room is an experience.
Villa La Valencia offers full kitchens, washers and dryers, an honor bar (restocked daily), and so much more. From one-bedroom studio suites to the three-bedroom penthouse, these spaces make it almost too hard to leave at all. Almost.
Make Sure You Come Hungry
From the breezy, casual El Patrón Restaurant, the chic, fine dining of Latitud 23.5 Steakhouse, to the open-air Italian kitchen at La Taberna, you literally can’t go wrong. The servers at each onsite restaurant addressed us by name and each meal was an incredible event. Of course, they’re not all on the formal side. For casual breakfast (with an unbelievable buffet), El Patrón is the place to be. Dine right by the ocean and infinity pool at Coralle, and snag quick snacks at Palmita Market & Deli. Wrap up your evening at La Jolla Bar for the perfect nightcap.
You can catch live music, tequila tastings, and different culinary events, too, that make sure no two meals are exactly the same.
There’s Something for Everyone
As parents ourselves, we adore that Villa La Valencia recognizes that kiddos relax differently than adults. The large, brightly-colored Kids Club offers a place for your littles to let loose and have a blast. Video games, movies, tie-dye class, face painting, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts—kids will love having a place fully dedicated to them.
Nightlife is just as much fun. Family movie night, blackjack, live music—there’s always something going on. During our visit, we got to check out their Art Walk and Taco Night (complete with a high-energy saxophone duo). Villa La Valencia is constantly coming up with ways to keep your vacation feeling like one every single second you’re there.
Los Cabos is also famous for stunning beaches and clear water. Options to book tours, ATV rentals, jet ski adventures, glass-bottom boat tours, whale-watching, horseback riding, and more are all available. You seriously don’t want to miss these experiences.
Sister Properties
We were lucky enough to get to tour Villa La Valencia’s gorgeous sister properties right in Los Cabos: Villa del Palmar, Villa del Arco, and Villa La Estancia. Each resort is as beautiful as we’d come to expect from The Villa Group, and each offers a unique experience that caters to everyone’s pricing preferences and accommodation needs.
Be Prepared to be Treated Like Family
Every single minute we spent at Villa La Valencia was truly magic. And while the jaw-dropping resort, luxurious rooms, and top-tier dining were all part of it, we have to say that the best part was the people. There wasn’t a single staff member who didn’t make us feel like we were the only guests there, who didn’t go absolutely above and beyond for us, and who stopped to smile with a hand over their heart when they chatted with us. ‘Welcoming’ is an understatement.
