This mom turned her daughter’s pink nursery into a ‘Wednesday’ inspired dream of a bedroom, and the internet can’t get enough of the transformation

This one’s for the former goth girls (author raises her hand). If you loved My Chemical Romance way before their comeback tour, if you bought Tripp pants at Hot Topic, if you smuggled your black lipstick from Claire’s to school so your mom wouldn’t find out you were wearing it, this Wednesday-loving little girl is your kindred spirit. Her mom just shared a TikTok video showing how she transitioned her bedroom from a flowery pink nursery to a dark, moody goth girl haven, and it’s everything.

Mom Nicola Marie posted the video with the caption, “Surprising my daughter with a new Wednesday bedroom.” Over the video, she wrote, “From nursery decor to a Wednesday inspired bedroom makeover for under $1,200,” which, anyone who’s walked the aisles of Home Depot lately knows is a steal.

The video is a time-lapse that shows Nicola peeling the forest print wallpaper off the nursery walls before painting them a moody dark plum color. She then tackles furniture, giving her daughter’s dresser a fresh coat of the same color of paint. A new area rug with a black-and-white geometric print goes down on the floor, while dad handles the tricky job of hanging artwork above the bed—three line drawing prints of Wednesday doing some of her iconic dance moves.

New curtains and a cloud-inspired light fixture finish off the space, and then it’s time for the reveal. Nicola’s daughter, dressed as Wednesday in a lacy black dress and pigtail braids, sees the room and absolutely loses it, jumping up and down with her face practically split in two from her giant smile.

“These colors are taking me back to my bella/twilight comforter days,” one commenter wrote. Oh, and for anyone wanting some of that gorgeous plum paint in their own house, Nicola responded to a commenter that it’s Expressive Plum 6271 by Sherwin Williams. BRB, going on a quick trip to the hardware store.
