You’re always on YouTube. After all, how else would you watch all of those hilarious parenting parody videos? But what about your kids? They’re all about getting some TV time. And like you, they’re heading for the tablet or laptop instead of that massive entertainment setup you installed in the living room. Hold on. Wait just a moment. You don’t want your little one’s watching the same YouTube clips that you are. And that’s why YouTube Kids exists. If your child watches YouTube Kids, take a look at the upgrade its getting.

The kid-friendly app has been around for two years. Now in its toddlerhood, YouTube Kids is going through some changes. It’s growing. And it’s becoming something that you, and your kids, may just like better. At least, that’s the idea here.

Along with a new design, it now gives kids the chance to create their own profiles. This provides your kiddo with the chance to personalize their viewing experience. It can also change, based on your child’s age. Younger children, who either can’t read or are just learning how to, can get content that has less text. Older kids can get the opposite, content with more text.

What else will your child love, love, love about the new version of YouTube Kids? If you have more than one child, your kids can each set up a passcode. This will keep siblings out of each other’s accounts. Of course, you can always override the passcode to see what your child is doing online.
