If you can’t get enough blue heeler action, you’re in luck: A Bluey live theater tour is coming! Bluey’s Big Play The Stage Show is state-hopping across the U.S. from Nov. 18, 2022 through late May 2023, and kicking off at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. And, yep, the entire gang (Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli) will be there.
Parents and kids will both enjoy the live actors, vibrant sets and puppetry while viewing an original new story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and new music by Bluey composer Joff Bush. So what’s the story all about Dad wants to spend his Sunday afternoon relaxing, but Bluey and Bingo are not on board. The play will follow their antics as they try to get Dad up and moving for a day of fun.
In a press release, director Rosemary Myers of Windmill Theatre Co. shares, “After seeing the amazing reaction the show received during its Australia run, we are delighted to bring this standout live theater show to U.S. audiences. We know how much love there is out there for Bluey and are thrilled and honored to translate these brilliant characters into the three-dimensional world and to share this special experience with fans throughout America.”
Bluey’s Big Play The Stage Show is presented by BBC Studios and Andrew Kay in association with Windmill Theatre Co. While this is a first for American audiences, Bluey has been wowing audiences in Australia for quite some time, where it has performed 447 times!
The Bluey tour will be making its way to Wisconsin, California, Kentucky, Texas, Washington, Florida, Michigan and more. To see all the locations and purchase tickets later in May, head to events.bluey.tv.
