Summer just got more exciting! With schools letting out and the weather warming up, it’s the perfect time to make your summer bucket list to include some at-home movie nights. First on the list? Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness!
That’s right: Marvel Studios just announced the action flick will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ Jun. 22. The news was dropped by Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong and Xochitl Gomez in a quick fan “thank you” video on Youtube, much to the delight of busy parents everywhere who haven’t gotten to the theaters since the pre-Covid era.
If you’ve missed out on the hubbub, the newest film in the MCU heads into the Multiverse where Doctor Strange hooks up with a variety of allies to take down a new villain. To say the film is a mind-bender is an understatement and we’re betting even Christopher Nolan (the director of Interstellar, Inception and Tenet to name a few) appreciates the countless twists and turns.
While a journey into the multiverse is definitely capable of keeping us entertained all summer, there are plenty of other shows, documentaries and films slated to drop on Disney+ too. In June, tune in for more episodes of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, the debut of Ms. Marvel, Trevor the Musical, Rise and Baymax.
Come July, get ready for Nat Geo’s American the Beautiful documentary, Zombies 3, High School Musical: The Musical Season 3 and the conclusion of Ms. Marvel. Still need more content? August will drop LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law and Star Wars: Andor.
When it comes to blockbusters, just wait until September and Disney+ Day! The brand new Pinocchio and Hocus Pocus 2 both launch within the month, in addition to lots of fun speciality content for the second annual event.
In the meantime, set a reminder for Jun. 22 to catch up with Doctor Strange. Don’t forget the popcorn!
