The good news? Many communities are taking everyone’s consideration when designing new play structures—allowing those with special needs to play alongside their peers. JT’s Grommet Island Beach Park and Playground for Every“BODY” – Virginia Beach, Va

Built after a family found it difficult to navigate a wheelchair across the sand, JT’s Grommet Island is 100% accessible to beach lovers of all ages and abilities. With ramps, shaded areas, elevated sand tables and soft play sculptures, this park is a permanent community feature thanks to sponsor donations and funds raised from their JT Walk for ALS awareness. It's been such a hit there are plans to continue expansion for truly all inclusive fun.
