For her daughter Esme's first birthday, Ashley of Food Swoon threw a ladies-only, sophisticated affair for her little one. Just a few days earlier she hosted a rowdy sixth birthday for her son. This party however was a different matter and the cake really says it all. The smash cake was topped off with pink strips of buttercream fondant. Inside Esme found layers of white velvet cake and chocolate buttercream frosting.
