Who’s the bigger grump, Oscar the Grouch or Roy Kent? Watch Brett Goldstein head to Sesame Street to find out
If you’re like me and really need something to warm your heart now that Ted Lasso has ended, you’re going to want to watch these Sesame Street clips.
The first clip shows Goldstein trying to decide on a game to play with Elmo and Grover. When they decide to play hide and seek (without telling Goldstein), he’s left to search Sesame Street for his friends, running into some other recognizable characters along the way.
One of the funniest moments of the clip comes when Goldstein runs into Oscar the Grouch, who has a familiar-looking sign for Ted Lasso fans (though his reads “SCRAM” instead of the inspiring “BELIEVE”). The two get into a “grunt-off,” and even though Roy Kent is a grouch, we soon learn he’s just no match for Oscar.
Appearing on Sesame Street has been a longtime dream for Goldstein, who posted about it on Instagram last year.
“I finally found my way to Sesame Street and it was more wonderful than I could have imagined,” he wrote. “Everyone was so funny and brilliant and friendly and kind. I managed to get to say hi to all the residents except Snuffleupagus who was sleeping (although I saw him sleeping and he snores less than you’d think.). Truly a beautiful cast and crew that fill that whole street with all the love you could wish for.”
It’s really no wonder that appearing on Sesame Street was such a huge goal for Goldstein. He previously went viral for performing a 6-minute one-man-show version of A Muppet Christmas Carol at a charity event (and yes, that included singing the songs). The man might just be the Muppets’ #1 fan—even though you’d never guess it by his prickly Ted Lasso character.
