Kids are the biggest birthday party animals out there. And what do you get at birthday parties? Pizza, pizza … and more pizza. Nothing against ‘za (it’s so quick and easy!), but for a choice less ordinary, go with one of our picks. Gourmet Hot Dogs

Hot diggity! What kid doesn't love a dog? And how about jazzed-up ones to make the party even more fun? Frank's Night Out hot dog joint in Plainfield serves swanky franks, like the chili mac dog, with chili and mac and cheese; and the Cheesehead served in a pretzel bun with cheese curds, cheese sauce and grilled onions. They’ll even make them “pup” sized for parties. Of course, extra napkins are a must, the more toppings the messier these dogs can get.
