10 Cool Biking Parents Reinventing the Wheel

From the mom you see toting her four kids around town on wheels to new trails and bike lanes popping around the country, it’s clear that biking is not just a mode of transportation for families, but a way of life. In honor of National Biking Month, we took a look around, and found cool parents who make the daily trek on their wheels in sunshine, rain, and yes, even snow. Flip through the album below for 10 inspiring, adventurous and fun stories.

Kirsten Bonkoski – Salt Lake City, Ut

Even though she rode off and on during high school, it wasn’t until college while, taking a three-day ride on the White Rim Trail in Moab, that Kristen fell in love with mountain biking. Now, the mom of a busy three-year-old continues to hit the trail, with her kiddo strapped along (and packing plenty of snacks) for the ride. As a co-leader of Salt Lake City Kidical Mass, Kristen can be found commuting on two wheels around her hometown of Salt Lake City when she’s not chronicling her trail experiences over at Rascal Rides.

Coolest biking experience? Taking her son out on a singletrack. Toddlers are a rarity on the biking trail, but Kristen’s budding biker has already explored Bend, Or, Phoenix, Az, Sun Valley Id, and Moab, Ut.
