Ah, the warm summer sun means pool days, hours of playground fun and… um, Halloween? You’ll want to book your Disney Halloween Cruise before it sells out, because Disney has announced their Halloween cruise dates for 2018. And that means it’s time to start thinking about the fall. That is, if you want to get a spot on this highly-coveted (and spooky-cool) cruise.
September ushers in school days, sweater weather and a whole new look for the fleet of Disney Cruise Line’s ships. Even though the ships stay decidedly Disney in their theme, they also get all kinds of spooky as they’re magically transformed for “Halloween on the High Seas.” But don’t worry, this isn’t exactly Freddy or Jason levels of fright: it’s more of a pint-sized set of age-appropriate ghostly good ol’ fun.

So what can you expect from Disney’s Halloween Cruise? Look for extra-special activities such as Mickey’s Mouse-querade Party (a costume party for the kiddos), A Nightmare Before Christmas—Sing and Scream (get interactive with the movie and sing along with you’re A Nightmare Before Christmas faves), Haunted Stories of the Sea (think campfire ghost stories, but told by a spooky sea captain) and Halloween Isn’t Just for Kids (a party just for the parents).
These spook-tacular cruises set sail from both coasts, starting Sep. 1. Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida depart Sep. 1 through Oct. 27 and the Disney Dream Bahamian cruise (also from Port Canaveral) goes from Sep. 3 through Oct. 29. Also on the East Coast, the Disney Magic Canada and Bermuda cruises depart from New York City from Sep. 20 through Oct. 29. And if you’re on the West Coast, the Disney Wonder Baja, Mexican Riviera and Panama Canal cruises leave San Diego, California from Sep. 14 through Oct. 14.
