You don’t have to go big to keep your little snow bunnies entertained this winter. In fact, these tiny towns are proving just how much adventure one family can fit into a small space, with everything from sleigh rides and sledding to skijoring and sightseeing, and even a few that don’t include snowy goodness (hello, beaches and sunshine). Flip through to find your next pint-sized winter destination!

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (Appx. Population 6,200)

From Nov. 6 through Feb. 28, 2018 Pigeon Forge, a small resort town at the edge of Great Smokey Mountains National Park, celebrates Winterfest where nearly every architectural structure gets gilded in holiday lights. During the day Dollywood, a kitschy family theme park with rides and shows is a must-visit. If that isn’t enough to keep your crew busy, the city presents two major winter events: January's is Wilderness Wildlife Week, a tribute to the national park and other outdoor topics, and February's is Saddle Up, a salute to the American West.
