With a long history of providing arts and enrichment programming for campers, Greenwich House is now expanding programming to provide an even more engaging Summer STEAM Camp providing a chance for young people ages 6-14 to enjoy arts and crafts, engaging science and technology activities, recreation, and outdoor summer fun! Campers will enjoy painting and drawing, ceramics, architecure, coding, sports, cooking and so much more. Every day will have a chance for recreation on our rooftop or in neighborhood parks, and we regularly arrange field trips – virtual or in person, depending on regulations – with our cultural partners like The Whitney Museum of Art.

We want our campers to leave camp having learned the value of teamwork, friendship, diversity, and self-esteem through our STEAM programs. Students will learn to feel comfortable expressing themselves artistically and within a group setting and gain a deeper knowledge of numerous systems of science.

At KoKo NYC we value the process of making. KoKo seeks to educate kids and adults alike about our impact on our environment. Our arts-based science and engineering programs are meant to empower kids of all walks of life and we’re interested in pushing kids to be able to act more responsibly towards their peers and their environment. We encourage them to take risks and believe in their own ability to make a difference. But the most important part is the approach: KoKo means having fun!

The Soap Box Workshop (7-14 years) and Mini Destroy&Construct (5-7 years) encourages children to think outside the box. Children build inventions with found and recycled objects as well as building materials. At the Soupbox site participants turn piles of seemingly useless trash into functional machines while learning about construction and design and, more importantly, having fun.

All our programs are Maker Mentor Programs, but leading up to the summer we are introducing KoKo NYC’s outdoor afterschool classes in the parks.  We have a special offer for Red Tricicle subscribers until March 21. Use RT Maker Mentor at checkout for 10%. If you’d like to bring KoKo to your neighborhood, please reach out to us at info@kokonyc.org!

More Green time = Less Screen time.

In today’s world of technology, ensuring our kids get enough time outdoors is a growing concern for parents. We created Treebath’s outdoor programs to provide a means for children to get outside. While we are aware of the unseen benefits for children when they get fresh air, new studies show there are tangible effects, too. Being in nature stimulates children’s imagination and creativity, and reduces stress, depression and obesity. Treebath’s outdoor Explorers program is skillfully curated to provide the added benefit of instilling children with a sense of responsibility and respect for nature, and one another. We strive to ensure that they take these values with them as they grow into world citizens. Treebath programs are entirely outdoors for kids ages Pre-K to Second grade.

Summer 2021 Mini Camp Starts Monday, June 14th – Friday, September 4th. Weekly camps with 5-Day Sessions (M-F). Am or pm time slots. Options to book 1 week, 2 weeks or the entire summer! All classes are 2 hours each and meet rain or shine. Our locations are : (NY) Central Park East or West, (BK) Prospect Park, (NJ) Verona or (NJ) Hamilton Park.

At Kids in the Game, we’re providing a better way to play all summer long. Your camper will get to experience swimming, creative and performing arts, outdoor adventure, and of course team sports and games, all in the same day! Our camp includes theme weeks and exciting field trips that you won’t want to miss, like a trip to Governor’s Island or a Mets game. Through these activities, campers gain new experiences, develop friendships outside of their school communities, and learn from kid-approved, adult mentors who make each day more adventurous than the last.

This summer more than ever, safety is top of mind. In 2020 we successfully ran 4 camps for over 400 campers, and we had 0 COVID cases. More importantly, we created a space for kids to be kids again. We wore our masks, shifted our programming, and tapped into our creativity. This summer, we can’t wait to do it again.  We have 8 weeks for you to choose from, so your kids are sure to have a ton of fun all summer long!
