Summer is a time for kids to stretch their imaginations, learn, and play. This summer let us be your trusted partner in keeping your children happy, safe, and engaged.

For roughly a century, the Y’s summer camps have empowered Chicagoland’s youth to do mighty things. We’ve adapted our offerings to comply with public health guidelines so whatever the summer brings, we’re ready for your children to join us for the adventure.

Our camps meet the moment: Our in-person camps follow CDC and ACA guidelines and the Y’s staff uphold our values of care, responsibility, and equity.
Y camps build lifelong friendships: The Y’s camps create a space for youth to have fun, make friends, and create lasting memories.
Flexible schedules mean options for your family: Our camps give families the flexibility to choose what options work best. They run Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sponge Summer Camps

Help your student keep up their Spanish, Mandarin or Japanese skills over the summer months through games, cooking, culture and art!

Sponge’s Language Summer Camps are offered for Pre-K to 5th grade students.

Week-long summer camps are offered from June 21 – July 30 2021.

Pre-K-K camps are half-day in length and run from either 9:30am – 12:30pm or 12:30 pm – 3:30pm. Camps for older students are full-day and run from 9:30am – 3:30pm.

We are offering camps in Spanish, Mandarin, and Japanese.

Arts Aloft Summer Fun… Fingers Crossed!

Our summer camp schedule is on our website and we are crossing our fingers that students will be in the studio this summer! Our award winning camps fill quickly and this year is no exception. Optimistic parents are clammering for spots in our popular camps such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, Fairies, Percy Jackson, The Magic Treehouse , Ancient Egypt and more. Kids love spending the morning creating masterpieces inspired by the theme of the week. Artists will learn to paint, draw and sculpt with both clay and plaster wrap. Only kids who like to create and get messy need apply.

Nervous about sending your child to camp with kids they don’t know are following current COVID restrtictions? Contact us re: a private camp for you and your pod. If possible, we are happy to fit you into our calendar.

For a limited time you can add your kids to the roster free of charge! Depending on COVID restrictions, a $125 non refundable deposit will be required on March 1st to hold your spot. Deposits can also be applied toward a future camp or class.

Blue Ribbon Summer Cooking Camp

We know this year is all about options! For our summer camp, we want to get your kids in the kitchen whether its ours or yours! We are hosting IN-PERSON camps in our kitchen and VIRTUAL camps to be enjoyed in your kitchen.

In Person Camps

Join us in the kitchen for our culinary camps with new safety modifications and a new structure to the curriculum. Our camps will have each student focus on crafting their own dishes at their own independent stations. Students will learn, with the guidance of our professional chef instructor, how to work independently in the kitchen with confidence and safety. Choose from Classic Culinary Camp, Baking Camp, Advanced French Cooking, Advanced Baking or Pre-Camp for our littlest chefs!

Virtual Culinary Camp

Join us on Zoom for our virtual cooking workshops. A box of gourmet ingredients will be delivered to your door each morning and then your student will work online from your kitchen with our chef instructor cooking dinner for your family! This means not only will your student be actively learning a new life skill, but you get dinner prepared for your family that evening!

Camp Jaycee

EVERYONE’S INVITED!

Camp Jaycee offers a safe and happy summer camp you can rely on to follow CDC, state, and local COVID-19 health and safety guidelines and protocols. Nobody knows for sure what this coming summer will look like, but you can rest assured that Camp Jaycee will be the place you can count on for a summer filled with adventure, friends, and memories! Last summer was proof we can deliver on this promise.

Camp Jaycee offers adventures, friends, and great summer memories for kids of every background and age (18 months through 11th grade). Our ACA-accredited camp features camps for every interest including daily swimming, traditional, sports, Spanish immersion, teen, theatre, and so much more.

Instituto Cervantes – Summer Camps

The Instituto Cervantes program is designed to provide children of different ages the opportunity to learn Spanish in a rich, stimulating, and motivating environment that fosters enjoyment and curiosity.

Children will learn Spanish in a safe atmosphere where they will feel comfortable and free to actively participate. Students will be nurtured and encouraged to communicate in Spanish and work in collaborative groups – promoting cooperation, group effort, and authentic communication.

DAILY PROGRAM

The goal of the Instituto Cervantes 2021 Summer Camps is to offer our students and their families the same fun and educational Spanish-learning experience adapted to a digital environment.

ZOOM will be the digital platform used for the 2021 Summer Camps. Teachers will create a recurring invite for each week of the camp so that families can access daily sessions through the same link every day.

The learning objectives of each lesson will be shared with parents at the beginning of each session (or week) along with the specific contents and the materials that will be needed each day.

Summer camps may be held in-person if the health Authority allows it.

Discovery Camp

Discovery Camp at the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) is summer as it should be. Campers are invited back to BADM this summer to have a blast with robust programming that provides the perfect blend of BADM’s exhibits and the surrounding National Park, Fort Baker.

New this year are full camp days and 3 week sessions, leaving more time for safe fun and exploration!
