Does this pint-size performer look familiar? You may recognize Sky Katz from her stint on this past season of America’s Got Talent, where she rapped her way to the third round with original track Fresh. Hailing from Long Island, Ny, Sky is an 11-year-old that’s been making waves in the music industry since the age of five. In 2016—fueled by her passion to bring back old-school hip hop—she infused the music community with her witty and energetic style and bold lyrics. Her original track titled Long Way to Go, is a powerful statement about gun violence, and her live performances include showcases at the Long Beach NY’s Allegria Hotel, Brooklyn’s 5 Spot, Camp Chipinaw in Swan Lake NY, and the Healthy Guru Expo at Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan.
She’s a BMI Recording artist, has been featured on several news segments, has been interviewed by LUCID magazine, JamSphere, Newsday, and the New York Post. Along with balancing the recording studio, interviews and performances, Sky is also a star basketball player in Long Island. She’s currently on three different traveling teams!
What’s next for Sky? She’ll be featured in an upcoming issue of TIME Magazine for Kids, and her debut album is set to drop early this year.
