From “Jingle Bells” and “Here Comes Santa Claus” to “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer,” caroling is the one thing that truly makes it feel like the holidays. (Well, that and your dog’s palpable humiliation at having to wear antlers again.) Whether you and the kiddos are looking to belt out a few tunes yourselves or prefer to let the pros in their Dickensian finest take care of the work, there are plenty of options across town to enjoy your Christmas favorites.  All together now…

Original Farmer’s Market
There’s something so warm and comforting about the Original Farmer’s Market during the holidays. From the soft twinkling lights to the shopkeepers’ stalls decked out with care, it’s definitely one of our favorite LA spots this time of year and there’s live music to boot! In the final days before Christmas Eve, costumed carolers stroll the aisles singing everyone’s favorite Yuletide jams while knee high folk (your kids, and the occasional stray elf) stuff their faces with heavenly beignets and cookies from the market.

Two Rodeo
We like to think this is where Brenda and Dylan would have come for the holidays if they’d wanted less drama and more caroling. Between the glow of Two Rodeo’s Christmas tree and the sparkle of Tiffany’s mere steps away, costumed carolers croon festive tunes throughout the Christmas season. Shoppers can also enjoy visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as the occasional snowfall, LA style. (Kelly would be totally jealous.)

The Music Center Holiday Sing-Along
Why sing Christmas carols alone in the shower when you can do it with a bunch of total strangers under the stars? Load up the kiddies and head downtown to The Music Center Sing-Along for an unforgettable night of holiday cheer. There is live music accompaniment and lyric sheets will be provided. Free tickets are distributed the day of the event at 6 p.m., one per person waiting in line. First come, first served so be sure to get there early!

The Magical Christmas Caroling Truck
The holiday season is all about traditions and this is one of the absolute coolest by far. Entering its 30th year in operation, The Magical Christmas Caroling Truck will once again hit up North Hollywood and Toluca Lake neighborhoods on Christmas Eve, spreading joy and wonder to everyone in its path. A 62-foot tractor trailer wrapped in thousands of colorful lights and a 20,000 watt sound system will join over 100 carolers and dancers in serenading local residents all night long. Revelers can follow the truck’s path on Twitter throughout the evening, as well as download a map of their route online.

When: Christmas Eve, 4:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Montrose Old Town Christmas
Step back in time for an old-fashioned Christmas when you visit Old Town Montrose during the holidays. Filled with delightful family owned and operated shops and cozy cafes, this charming little neighborhood makes you feel light years away from the big city. Christmas festivities include strolling carolers every weekend, complimentary horse drawn trolleys, free hand-led pony rides and periodic visits from Santa.
