Whether it’s LEGOs, K’Nex, Lincoln Logs, or just plain old wood blocks, kids love to build and create. Here in Los Angeles we’ve got some amazing examples of architecture that will inspire you’re little Lautner or growing Geary. These buildings are impressive, cool, and anything but boring – and most are in unexpected places and totally touchable. So take your tot on a structural and instructional tour of the city that will get their wheels turning – then go home and see what you can create!
Yes, we do have a downtown! And there’s a wonderful mix of old and new that makes downtown especially exciting right now. There’s always been plenty of fascinating history, but now with refurbishments, renovations and new places opening every day, it’s become a true city center. With the world famous Gehry designed Disney Concert Hall, Grand Central Market (which was just named one of the 10 Best New Restaurants in America by Bon Appetit), the historic Olvera Street, Union Station, City Hall, Angels Flight (currently closed for renovations – keep your eye on it to see when it re-opens!) and more, every Angeleno should make a pilgrimage downtown.
