There’s a magical new way to get around in Disney World as the Disney Skyliner is officially open at the resort.

The new gondola system takes visitors on an epic ride from four Disney Resort hotels, including Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and the new Disney’s Riviera Resort when it opens later this year, to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Disney Skyliner might be a mode of transportation, but the journey is most definitely half the fun as you’re treated to a bird’s eye view of the Magic Kingdom.

According to Disney Parks, the “Disney Skyliner will soar along waterways and wooded areas alike on its way to theme parks and Disney resort hotels, while wide-eyed guests will be treated to views never before seen.”

The Skyliner features approximately 300 cabins which are wrapped in whimsical Disney scenes with beloved characters, fan-favorite movies, attractions and more giving the impression that guests are riding with Disney pals.

Guests can hop aboard the Disney Skyliner Cabins at several uniquely designed stations across the resort including the Epcot International Gateway station, which is inspired by the European pavilions in the park and the Disney’s Hollywood Studios station, which reflects the Art Decostyle of the park’s main entrance. The Skyliner Station at Hourglass Lake, which is shared by Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, gives guests a sky high ride above the lake.

Fans that want to bring the magic of the Skyliner home can purchase all kinds of Disney Skyliner-themed gear including t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, pins, MagicBands, Christmas ornaments, toys and more available now at Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the four resorts the Skyliner serves.

Have a teen who’s too cool for family vacations? Take them on a cruise. Not only do cruise vacations give teenagers the freedom they crave, but more and more cruise ships are also offering unique perks for teens, from teen-only nightclubs to Broadway-caliber shows. These are some of the best cruise ships for teens.

1. Disney Dream

You’re never too old for Disney, and the luxurious amenities and services offered by Disney Cruise Line are seriously over the top. Among the highlights for teens are Vibe, a hip hangout with a sun deck with splash pools, water misters and classic games; an indoor dance floor; stage area for karaoke and talent shows; wall pods for gaming and watching movies; and a lounge with snacks and mocktails. Teens also love the AquaDuck, a water coaster that twists and turns its way around the ship—even going out over the water! You’ll also find the AquaDuck on Disney Fantasy, and all Disney ships offer a teens-only hangout.

2. Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas

Teens can get happily get lost on Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas—it’s the largest cruise ship in the world! They’ll discover laser tag, ziplining, ice skating, mini-golf, a carousel and the electrifying Ultimate Abyss waterslide, along with performances of Hairspray and mesmerizing shows at the AquaTheater. The ship’s teen programming is divided into two age groups—12 to 14 and 15 to 17—allowing teens to watch movies, play games, sing karaoke and more with other kids their age.

3. Carnival Vista

One word: Skyride. The suspended bicycle takes riders around the Carnival Vista, 150 above the sea, in a breathtaking experience your teens won’t soon forget! Other thrills for teens include a ropes course, 3D movie experience at the Thrill Theater, and a sports complex with everything from outdoor billiards to mini-bowling. The Carnival Vista also offers two teens-only hangouts: Club 02 for 15- to 17-year olds, and for ages 12 to 14, Circle C.

4. Norwegian Getaway

Talk about an adrenaline rush. On Norwegian Getaway, teens can walk The Plank, a narrow plank that goes out over the sea. (All participants are properly harnessed, so you can take a breath now.) If that’s not enough, there’s also the heart-racing Free Fall waterslide. Other ship activities for teens include rock climbing, the Rock of Ages show and the Entourage Teen Zone for ages 13 to 17.

5. Royal Princess

It’s all about Remix, a teen club for ages 13 to 17 on Royal Princess. This one features a DJ booth where teens can create their own playlist, an indoor lounge with video games and an outdoor area with a wading pool. Regularly scheduled activities include teens-only mocktail parties, sports competitions, dance classes and late-night movies. Another reason we love Princess Cruise Line for teens: the Ocean Medallion, which allows parents to easily keep track of and communicate with their teens, no matter where they are on the ship.

Thinking about introducing your kids to a cruise? Royal Caribbean International’s highly anticipated private island in The Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay, is finally open and bursting with one-of-a-kind experiences. We recently had the opportunity to visit the island—a first in the cruise line’s new Perfect Island Day Collection—and came back with plenty to report. If you’re considering a cruise soon or just want to know what this epic island has to offer, keep reading!

A Private Island Experience Like No Other

In an effort to push the envelope in cruise line experiences and provide a “perfect” destination for every type of traveler, Royal Caribbean International spent the last year and $250 million transforming their private island in The Bahamas into an impressive 125-acre beach haven for thrill seekers and beach chillers alike. From ginormous water slides and wave pools, to thrilling zip lines and helium balloon rides, to pristine white-sand beaches and crystal-clear tropical water, guests can now customize their own perfect beach day at CocoCay Island.

Go to Extreme Heights at the Thrill Waterpark

Located in the heart of Perfect Day at CocoCay, you’ll find the Thrill Waterpark. If you’ve got a crew of adrenaline junkies, this impressive waterpark boasts two brag-worthy towers with 13 water slides. When you arrive, make your way to the top of Daredevil’s Tower and take the plunge down Daredevil’s Peak. This impressive, 135-feet-tall water slide comes with serious bragging rights—it’s the tallest water slide in North America! Once you’ve got your feet wet and your adrenaline pumping, you’ll want to try the Dueling Demons, two drop slides that will take you from a vertical position, down a tube slide and to the bottom in a matter of seconds. For riders who want to ease into the “big” slides, Daredevil’s Tower also offers twin open flume slides, a high-speed fully vertical slide and a massive coiling tube slide.

After conquering the slides at Daredevil’s Tower, head over to Splash Summit, the waterpark’s second tower, and tackle the even more epic action: multi-rider slides, a zero gravity slide and more. No trip to the waterpark would be complete without riding the waves at the the largest wave pool in the Caribbean! You’ll also find an obstacle course, rock climbing wall and two rope swings in the Adventure Pool.

Play at the Biggest Aqua Park at Sea

For little water bugs looking to get in on the waterpark action, Splashaway Bay offers the largest aqua park at sea. Kids will find an array of playful fountains, sprinklers and geysers along with two massive drench buckets and five water slides, including three new racers. If your tots are looking for even more excitement, just a stone’s throw away from Splashaway Bay are the swashbuckling thrills of Captain Jill’s Galleon. This interactive pirate ship comes with three dry slides, 16 water cannons, rope features and a splash pad. The best part? These attractions are both complimentary, so you don’t need to purchase a Thrill Waterpark pass to enjoy them.

Chill at the Largest Freshwater Pool in the Caribbean

In addition to water slides, splash pads and wave pools, Perfect Day at CocoCay offers the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. Head over to Oasis Lagoon and take advantage of the pool’s three distinct coves, each with its own vibe and underwater sound system. With features like beach-entry and a swim-up bar, you might not ever want to get out. If you do, consider treating your crew to a little R&R in one of the private cabanas, complete with cabana attendants.

Go Up, Up & Away

Perfect Day at CocoCay is all about creating lasting memories through extreme experiences. Proof positive? The helium balloon ride, Up, Up and Away. Hop on board this signature attraction and get ready to take in the breathtaking views of CocoCay Island and the pristine blue waters of The Bahamas as you soar 450 feet in the air. Psst…Up, Up and Away provides the highest vantage point in the Caribbean!

photo: Royal Caribbean International

Take a High-Flying Ride Across the Island

If you’re looking for another way to get that bird’s eye view of the island, plan to take a ride on the island’s speedy zip line. The 1,600-foot-long zip line course crisscrosses across the island, taking you from the arrival’s plaza, over the wave pool and Adventure Pool and across the harbor. All riders need to wear closed toes shoes, so don’t leave the boat without them.

Plan to Spend Some Time Chilling at the Beach

Perfect Day at CocoCay is not only about thrills. The extreme makeover brought a revamp of the island’s “chill” zones which makes the destination even more attractive to families. Chill Island offers pristine, crystal clear tropical waters and powder-like white sand beaches perfect for little feet. Grab a bite to eat at the Chill Grill, the largest dining venue on the island, and then relax under one of the beach umbrellas.

Psst…you can find all your beach day faves on South Beach, including volleyball, beachside basketball, soccer and paddle boarding as well as snorkeling and jet ski excursions.

More to Come!

In December 2019, Perfect Day at CocoCay will offer a luxury expansion to the island. With the addition of the Coco Beach Club, guests will have the opportunity to experience the very first overwater cabanas in The Bahamas—each with their own private water slide, overwater hammock, shower and dedicated attendant. If that doesn’t sound dreamy enough, the Club will also offer a 2,600 foot beachfront infinity pool and an exclusive Mediterranean dining venue.

Insider Tips & Tricks

1. If you purchase a Royal Caribbean drink package or deluxe beverage package on your cruise, you can use the package benefits while at Perfect Day at CocoCay. Souvenir cup drinks or drinks served in coconuts or pineapples are not included.

2. Your Voom internet package will work at Perfect Day at CocoCay with WiFi coverage extending across the island.

3. If you plan to ride Daredevil’s Peak and/or The Slingshot, go when you first arrive. The lines get long around lunchtime (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) and in the late afternoon, after 3 p.m.

4. There is a secret menu item at the Snack Shack inside the Thrill Waterpark. Ask for a chicken parmigiana sandwich and you’ll get a cross between the crispy chicken sandwich, mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce.

5. If you plan to go to the Thrill Waterpark, pre-purchase your tickets before your cruise and save some money.

6. If your crew is tuckered out after a day of slipping and sliding or you’ve got a lot gear to go to and from the ship, complimentary trams run all over the island and on and off the pier.

7. Make your own DIY ice cream sandwiches! Self-service soft service ice cream machines can be found at Perfect Day at CocoCay along with giant chocolate chip cookies. Head to one of the snack bars to pick up two cookies and then beeline it over to the soft serve machines and combine the two. You can thank us later!

Choosing the Perfect Ship

Families can visit Perfect Day at CocoCay by booking a cruise on one of Royal Caribbean’s 11 ships. Short Caribbean escapes are offered onboard the Mariner of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas and longer sailings are offered onboard the Oasis Class ships, including Allure, Harmony and Symphony of the Seas. If you’re sailing from the Northeast, there are also plenty of options onboard the Grandeur, Adventure and Anthem of the Seas.

If you’ve got a crew of first-time cruisers, we highly recommend a three-night Perfect Day at CocoCay weekend cruise onboard the Navigator of the Seas. This ah-mazing ship just received a $115 million remodel and not only offers two first-of-its kind onboard water slides (The Blaster which is the longest aqua coaster at sea and Riptide which is the industry’s only headfirst onboard mat racer water slide), but a rock climbing wall, sports court, surf simulator machine, mini golf course and re-imagined Caribbean resort-style poolscape and splash pad. Other new additions include the first standalone blow-dry bar at sea, a three-level signature bar with rooftop deck, a redesigned teen space, laser tag and escape room, plus several new dining options, including Johnny Rockets Express, El Loco Fresh, Hooked Seafood and Jaime’s Italian.

For a full list of sailings, visit royalcaribbean.com/cococay-cruises and be sure to stay tuned for more additional Perfect Day Island Collection destinations in Asia, Australia and the Caribbean.

Rates start at $303 per person.

Flying with the Fam Is about to Get Cheaper with 2 New Budget Airlines

Frontier Airlines Wants to Send Your Fam to LEGOLAND for Free & Here’s How

Here’s Every Day Your Kid Can Fly for Free on Frontier Airlines

They say that a hot dog always tastes better at the ballpark. While that may be true, there are so many other tasty treats to try at T-Mobile Park this season. This year marks the ninth-year collaboration between the Mariners’ hospitality partner, Centerplate, and 2019 James Beard Award Semifinalist Chef Ethan Stowell. Together, they’re bringing new tastes, new flavors and even a new signature cocktail inspired by the Mariners new partnership with T-Mobile to the park. Scroll down to see what you can expect to sink your teeth into this season.

Hit It Here Cafe

T-Mobile Park

Chef Stowell has made some exciting updates to the Hit It Here Café menu adding selections from his Ballard Pizza and burgers featuring Crowd Cow. Created with a half-pound Crowd Cow beef patty, the Hempler’s Bacon Burger is almost too good to be true. Topped with smoked sweet and spicy Hempler’s bacon, Tillamook cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and special sauce, it’s a real mouthful. Other burgers on the menu include the Spicy Burger (half pound Crowd Cow patty topped with Face Rock Creamery’s "In Your Face Habanero cheese,” Mama Lil’s pickled peppers, lettuce, tomato, onion and special sauce), the Beyond™ Burger (a plant-based patty with lettuce, tomato, onion and vegan Just Mayo) and the Chef Inspired Burger created by some of Seattle’s top chefs, including Ethan Stowell, Maria Hines, John Sundstrom, Brady Williams and Mitch Mayers and will change on a regular basis.

If pizza is more your style, Stowell brings four kinds of personal-sized pizzas from Ballard Pizza, including Arugula & Guanciale, the Staple & Fancy (with pecorino, mozzarella, Zoe’s pepperoni, jalapeños and pineapple), Zoe’s Pepperoni and Cheese (with pecorino and mozzarella).

Order Up: A side of KuKu Fries with that burger. They are just as unique as they are topped with togarashie Japanese seasoning, red tobiko (flying fish roe), sriracha chili sauce, horseradish crema and chives.

Location: Hit It Here Cafe

Fat's Chicken

T-Mobile Park

Two of the best new tastes this season come with a Southern accent as the Central District’s Fat’s Chicken & Waffles brings its cuisine to the ballpark. The Five Spice Fried Chicken Thigh Sandwich is delicious with its garlic aioli, tomato, pickle, mixed greens and house-made pimento cheese on a toasted bun. It goes together nicely with the Creole-spiced mac & cheese (which is just the right amount of spice without becoming too “hot”) made with Tillamook cheddar and mozzarella sauce. Other great choices include Fat’s Buttermilk Fried Chicken Strips with fries, Fat’s Wings (served with lemon pepper, buffalo style or gasp, naked) and Poutine (French fries topped with house-made Andouille sausage gravy and pimento cheese and rice with Andouille sausage gravy (aka Jasmine rice smothered in house-made Andouille sausage gravy).

Location: The ‘Pen

Paseo Caribbean Sandwiches

T-Mobile Park

Recently voted "Best Sandwich Shop in Washington,” by Thrillist, Paseo, brings their mouthwatering Caribbean flavors with inventive spins of favorite sandwiches each served with garlic aioli, caramelized onion, cilantro, pickled jalapeño and romaine lettuce on a toasted baguette. Choices here include the Caribbean Roast Sandwich (slow roasted pork shoulder in Paseo’s signature marinade), Smokin’ Thighs Sandwich (roasted skin-on chicken thighs), Tofu Delight Sandwich (sautéed organic tofu) and the West Caribbean Bowl (slow-roasted pork or chicken thighs atop jasmine rice with black beans, warm salsa, cheddar cheese, sour cream, pickled jalapeño and cilantro with tortilla chips.)

Order Up: The sides which are just as amazing. The roasted corn on the cob is unlike any corn you have ever eaten. Slathered in aioli, the ears are topped with parmesan cheese, cilantro and Paseo spices. Other sides include black beans and rice, Caribbean fries (with aioli, cilantro and Paseo spices) and nachos topped with cheddar cheese sauce, sour cream, caramelized onions, cilantro and pineapple chunks.

Location: Edgar’s Cantina & Edgar’s Home Run Porch

Li'l Woody's Burgers & Shakes

T-Mobile Park

Hamburgers might seem like a dime a dozen at the ballpark, but Li’l Woody’s is creating imaginative and savory combinations this season. Using fresh, quality ingredients, namely Painted Hills grass-fed beef, the burger joint has received high marks as one of the best places in Seattle. Now, you can enjoy the flame-broiled burgers served with chopped onion, diced pickle, tomato, lettuce, ketchup and mayo as you cheer on the M's. Choose from The Big Woody (1/4 lb. beef patty, Painted Hill’s bacon and Tillamook cheddar cheese), the Li’l Woody (the same burger minus the bacon) or the Impossible™ Veggie Burger. Your kids might prefer the chicken tenders and you can help them eat the hand-cut French fries.

Order Up: Fries from the mini fry menu featuring the now classic Garlic Fries, Queso Fries and a little something they like to call the ’95 Slide which is an order of fries with a small Full Tilt ice cream milkshake – for dipping! Sure, it sounds weird, but people love the savory/sweet combo.

Sultan of Sandwich & The Natural

T-Mobile Park

The Sultan of Sandwich is offering a tribute to the Hall of Fame broadcaster Dave Niehaus with its Grand Salami Sandwich. Believe it or not, it comes with a half-pound of local salami, smoked provolone cheese and grainy mustard on a marbled rye baguette. My, Oh My!

Location: Main Level, Section 105

Over at The Natural, you’ll find vegetarian options like the Beyond Meats Vegan Sausage (gluten-free, vegan plant-based protein topped with choice of condiments available in spicy or sweet Italian flavors. Even gluten-free buns are available if you prefer). Other choices include Avocado Toast (fresh scooped avocado on Franz Bakery organic high-protein, gluten-free bread and choice of up to two toppings), pre-made or build-your-own salads and the hummus platter.

Location: Section 132

Magenta Mojo Signature Cocktail & Buzz Margarita

T-Mobile Park

Pretty in pink, the new Magenta Mojo is a "disruptively light and refreshing” signature cocktail. It's considered not too sweet, strong or heavy and pairs well with many of the food choices featured here. It gets its vibrant color from hibiscus extract and includes vodka, Lillet Rose, Pamplemousse liqueur, and Peychaud’s Bitters and is topped with soda water. For an extra “buzz” spring the extra $3 for the lighted ice cubes.

Location: The ‘Pen, Terrace Club lounges and Lookout Landing

El Zacatecano mezcal is the base for the refreshing Mexican drink the Buzz Margarita.  It features Szechuan buttons, edible flowers that tingle the tongue and toasted and spicy grasshoppers as a garnish.

Location: Hit It Here Café Club Level

The Frozen Rope and Shug’s Soda Fountain & Ice Cream

T-Mobile Park

No offense to the classic Toll House cookie, but The Frozen Rope is bringing Metropolitan Market’s "The Cookie” to play. The 6 oz. treat is practically a meal with two kinds of Belgian chocolate, toasted walnuts and a sprinkle of fleur de sel. Sure, your kids will love it, but they won’t appreciate it. This one’s for you, mom and dad!

Location: Main Level, Section 132

Meanwhile, Shug’s brings a bit of nostalgia from its old-fashioned soda parlor to T-Mobile Park with two of its colorful portable carts hand-scooping Lopez Island Creamery's small-batch super premium ice cream.

Order Up: A prosecco float–a four ounce scoop of Lopez Island Creamery ice cream topped with San Martino Doc Extra Dry.
