“This is going to be a game changer. With sleek contemporary designs that parents will appreciate and Easter egg type surprises for kids throughout the resort, the entire family will love this place. Cartoon Network’s stories and themes appeal to everyone in a fun whimsical way,” said Rolf Paegert, chief operating officer of Palace Entertainment, which has partnered with Cartoon Network to bring the hotel to life.

The 165 room resort will sit on a nine-acre property featuring an interactive lobby, indoor arcade, a resort-style pool and water play zone, lawn games and an outdoor amphitheater with an oversized movie screen where you can get a first look of never-seen-before cartoons among other family-friendly amenities. There are also a wine bar and coffee lounge for the grown-up cartoon fans.

Each guest room will also be Cartoon Network-themed with interchangeable decor that can be customized around kids preferences.

The Cartoon Network Hotel will be located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania—right next door to the Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park—and is set to open later this summer.

As a SAHM one of the most difficult parts to adjust to was the lack of adult interaction.  Before you have a child most woman work and spend their day talking with friends and coworkers. Suddenly you have a baby and no one to talk too! I mean your husbands, friends, family and coworkers are busy. It gets better I promise. Your baby gets bigger and you start to meet other moms.  So this is where play dates come in! I will admit I love play dates! I know it’s important for children to interact with each other, but I’m just happy it gives me a chance to talk to another adult! My two-year-old daughter loves to talk, but that only goes so far. However, now she’s a toddler I have to constantly intervene to keep the kids from fighting over toys. Which means less time for an uninterrupted adult conversation.

Well, a fellow mom and myself found a solution to this problem. Schedule a play date during nap time! I know it sounds crazy and frankly how is this a play date. My fellow mommy and I came across this idea by accident. She needed to come over earlier for our playdate and it was around our girl’s nap time. So I set up a pack -n-play in our guest room for her to put her daughter down for a nap. I then put my daughter down for her own nap.  All I can say is we had 90 minutes with both of our girls napping!  It was an eye opening experience for us!

During their nap time we sat on my couch drank coffee and talked. What SAHM gets to spend 90 minutes talking with another parent these days! This was the best play date I had ever had! Our girls both woke up around the same time. But once they did their play date began. Both of us were recharged and ready for whatever behaviors and attitudes the girls threw at us. All because we had our own “play date” giving us the child free time we needed.

This experience made me feel like I found the Holy Grail of parenting!  I had time to talk to my friend without my screaming toddler WOW! Before this experience play dates with a toddler were exhausting! You spend most of the time trying to keep them from grabbing the same toy, pushing and whatever else they can think of. All while trying to have an adult conversation, this never turns out well. From that day forward my fellow mom and I try to host at least one play date a week during our girl’s nap time. I mean parents need play dates too!

Whether you’re a golfer or not, living in Atlanta during Springtime means that you’re doing the Master’s shuffle: trying to track down passes for your favorite uncle, cleaning out the guest room for your college bestie’s husband to use as base-camp for his trek to Augusta, and wondering why in the world you’ve never been to the hallowed ground of Augusta National yourself. This year, get your kiddos in on the action by signing them up for lessons at one of the following three in-town golf locations.

Golf Academy for Kids
This state-of-the-art golf facility isn’t only awesome because of its size (9,000 square feet), its technology (simulators and sloping putting greens), its convenience (smack in the middle of Buckhead on Miami Circle), or its valiant fight against the Atlanta heat (it’s indoor and temperature controlled). What makes this facility so remarkable is the power of its parent testimonies. Offering classes and individual instruction for children in age brackets 3-5, 5-7, and 8-11, GAK also offers summer camp sessions.

Total Golf Experience: Bobby Jones Golf Course
For your outdoor, in town (convenient, convenient, convenient!) golf lessons for kids ages 4 and older, head to Bobby Jones Golf Course near the intersection of Peachtree Battle Avenue and Northside Drive. Three instructors, each with a background in golf management or pro golf, focus on the fundamentals of playing as well as instilling a love of the game in your kiddos. Want to give your kids the chance to warm up to golf before investing in a series of individual lessons? Lucky ducks, you, because TGE also offers summer golf camps!

At Par Golf: North Fulton Golf Course at Chastain Park
Golf clinics, individual instruction, and tons of tournaments to try for kids ages 6 and older are the hallmarks of this golf program at Chastain Park. While each clinic promises to be small, between 3 and 12 students per clinic and staffed accordingly, don’t confuse “clinic” with “camp.” Give your little greenies a shot at one-on-one lessons to really spark the fire for golf before throwing him into a group setting, where players of varying skill levels practice their technique.

It seems we parents are always trying to save on space and come up with clever ideas for making the most of the rooms we have—some even pulling double duty. Check out these amazing and brilliant (not to mention stylish) ideas for sharing a nursery. Whether it be to make the room double as an office, a guest room, or fit two (or more) kids, we’ve got you covered.

Office + Nursery
What used to be an office and guest room (thanks to the transitional desk and murphy bed) was transformed into an adorable construction-themed nursery by mom and designer Vanessa Shaffer. We love that when the desk and the bed aren’t being used, they can be neatly tucked away behind a wallpaper covered wall. See more of this adorable nursery on Vanessa’s blog.

Bro/Sis Room + Nursery
This nursery is shared by an older sibling and baby. Neutral colors work best, especially when accommodating a boy and a girl, which was the case in this room. This bedroom was a princess room for the older girl, but when blogger Cindy found out she was pregnant, she transformed it again into the space you see now. When designing for siblings it’s important to give each child his or her own things. The monograms on the walls are one detail, but so is the sweet mobile and giraffe. The different textures and pillows on the bed are a touch more sophisticated for the daughter and the artwork works for both children. See more of this nursery on Cinsarah.

Guest Room + Nursery
This guest room turned nursery (by The Nesting Game) pulls double duty while still being super chic and glamorous. With just a few adjustments—sconces and a built-in nightstand shelf by the bed, plus a dresser and changing table in one—the neutral room allows guests to sleep comfortably, but has whimsical touches perfect for baby.

Master Bedroom + Nursery
This room is both a master bedroom for the parents-to-be and a nursery. Not an ideal situation for getting the most amount of sleep, but that’s par for the course and design-wise it works beautifully. They kept the colors similar for both the grown-up space and the baby’s area infusing it with bits of whimsy with the toys and bunting. See more ideas from this nursery on Studio 1208.
