This totally rad mom attended her graduation after giving birth. Yep, that’s right. Zeinab Abdalla is a master’s student, pursuing an education degree with an autism spectrum disorder specialty at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. When the then-pregnant mama went into labor the day before her graduation, she probably didn’t expect that her story would become nationwide news.Abdalla gave birth sometime around 8 p.m. The following day her graduation was scheduled for 5:30 p.m.—and the new mom didn’t want to skip it. So what did she do? Instead of resting for the next 48 hours or so, she went to her graduation. And I believe in St. Thomas’ logo, ‘We can do it together.’”So why did the new mom make a point of going to her graduation less than 24 hours after L&D? Abdalla reportedly said, “I was like, I need to reward myself and to do that I have to walk on the stage, get my degree, throw the cap and enjoy it.”Congrats to the new mom and new grad.
