The Happiest Place on Earth is about to get a whole lot happier—bet ready for a new Disney World hotel! This hotel experience is perfect for nature lovers, too.
Reportedly, the new hotel will have a nature-inspired theme. The resort, which will include 900 hotel rooms as well as Disney Vacation Club villas, is anticipated to open in 2022. This new endeavor is Disney’s sixteenth Disney Vacation Club property.

If you’re wondering where exactly Disney World will fit one more resort—the anticipated site is near the old River Country water park (which closed in 2001). In other words, look for it between Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, on the shores of Bay Lake.
The new nature-themed resort is just one of many new additions coming to Disney World in the next few years. An immersive Star Wars-themed hotel is in the works (to go along with the new Star Wars: Galaxy Edge land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios) and the Riviera Resort (the fifteenth Disney Vacation Club property) is set to open in 2019.
According to George A. Kalogridis, president of Walt Disney World Resort, “Walt Disney World is in the midst of our most significant expansion in the last two decades and the combined 1,700 new hotel rooms and proposed Disney Vacation Club villas we are building at four different resorts will create thousands of new construction and permanent jobs and will drive economic opportunity and incremental revenue for Central Florida.”
As of now, Disney has not released any specifics about their new nature-themed resort beyond an artist’s rendering. That means you’ll have to wait to find out exactly when it will open and how much an overnight stay (or several of them) will cost.
