Good eventually prevails over evil in all the best comic book stories. In celebration of National Comic Book Day, Pretend City is hosting PretendCON. Come dressed in your favorite comic book character costume and get your superpowers ready as you put our teamwork skills to the test in a Superhero Relay Race.

Chula Vista knows how to celebrate summertime right! This year’s annual HarborFest will have everything you could possibly want at a free, family-friendly celebration! Don’t miss the chance to explore more than 20 green initiatives, stroll through exotic automobile displays and peruse a vibrant art exhibition with breathtaking ocean views as a backdrop.
Returning for 2018, and curated by the Chula Vista foodie community, HarborFest will welcome the region’s best chefs, artisanal spirits, and craft beers to the Taco, Spirits and Craft Beer Revolution from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. This delicious showdown features dozens of delectable tacos, scrumptious spirits and craft beers battling out to be named Best of the Fest by voting attendees.

HarborFest was made for families. The Discovery Zone will keep the young (and young at heart) entertained all day with interactive activities, arts and crafts and even free kayaking and paddle board lessons. The Discovery Zone also provides an opportunity to learn about the seaside ecosystem with educational exhibits from The Living Coast Discovery Center.

Fall into this season as the leaves change colors and the weather gets colder. She will be joining Pretend City to share her story, Cub’s Wish. In this delightful tale, Papa helps Cub realize that all you need to do is wish from the heart.

From pros to newbies, everyone is invited to turn up the heat and enjoy FREE festive salsa lessons provided by Timba Heat professional dance instructors at 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Grab dinner at one of Bay Street’s restaurants after working up an appetite on the dance floor.

The San Diego Symphony is proud to present a concert of popular film music by master movie composer John Williams. This year’s edition, once again presented during Comic-Con International, will feature music from Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park and Star Wars! The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., but doors will open at 6 p.m. for a pre-concert gathering featuring special Star Wars-themed cocktails and a costume contest. Cosplay is welcome and encouraged.

Coming from Comic-Con? There will NOT be a tote bag check available (though there will be security looking at all articles brought in), so please leave those totes at home or in your hotel room if possible.

Everyone is invited to South Lake Union for the party of the summer – a full day of community, food, art, music and brews. This family-friendly event is free to enter and will once again host a stellar lineup of bands, food trucks, community booths, lawn games, SVC’s Steamroller Smackdown Poster Competition and Plein Air Printing Parlour.

Don’t miss this year’s incredible lineup headlined by Built to Spill, with supporting performances by Deep Sea Diver, Down North, Acid Tongue, and The Gods Themselves! The show is open to all ages.
