Run or walk this Valentine’s Day-themed 5k or 10k run and walk and celebrate at the finish line with free food and drink, exhibitors, a costume contest and more. Register online.

In addition to the run/walk, there will be a free Kids Dash. The PCC Healthy Kids Little Heart Beet Run is designed for kids 10 & under at will begin 9:10 a.m.

Calling all KidsQuest members! The staff at KidsQuest Children’s Museum want to show their love for you by inviting you to join their exclusive members-only Valentine’s Day party. Take your crew to Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium to watch the zoo animals enjoy special treats and enrichments for Valentine’s Day. Red and pink treats, heart-shaped toys and healthy snacks are among the enrichments that might be presented to animals by zookeepers during this special weekend.

Animal enrichment is an important part of animal care; it provides physical and mental exercise as members of various species engage in behaviors specific to their nature.

 

Award-winning, internationally celebrated guitarist Andre Feriante has presented his “Day of Love” concert to the Seattle Community for almost 20 years, and most of these creative concerts have been at Benaroya Hall.

On February 15, Andre Feriante will present “In Anatomie de L’Amour,” a sensual and mystical musical journey that promises to transport you to a place of bliss and joy.

Andre’s Bohemian Entourage brings many worlds together—flamenco dance, jazz, classical, belly dance, opera, East Indian tabla, blues, poetry and vocals—an array of guitar sounds, the oud, harp guitar, banjo and charango. “Anatomie de L’Amour” is a world music experience celebrating the many sides of love.

Start your morning off with an all-you-can-eat breakfast of fluffy homemade pancakes and bacon followed by a special screening (at 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.) of Seize the Day, a magical program of new animation from 11 countries.

Note: This event is held at Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption’s beautiful social hall, located at 1804 13th Ave. Parking in the church lot is included with your ticket. Take the fam to this annual Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebration at the Seattle Center. Explore and experience the cultural roots and contemporary influences of Vietnam through live performances, hands-on activities, foods, crafts, games, martial arts and a lively marketplace.

This Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebration offers families the opportunity to partake in contemporary and traditional Vietnamese culture to welcome the start of a new year. The two-day festival includes live musical performances, cultural village art display, a kid’s center with games and crafts and a Vietnamese traditional dress “ao dai” fashion show. Local food vendors and cooking demonstrations from restaurant Bun & Oc. will also be available.

 

From kayaks to luxury cruisers and everything in between, there’s lots for all the boaters in the family to take in at the Seattle Boat Show. But the show is not just for mom and dad to shop for the boat of their dreams or attend one of 200 plus free seminars. There’s also a special Kids AquaZone at the indoor location at CenturyLink Field Event Center with tons of free activities for kids of all ages. On the water at South Lake Union there will also be free boat rides!

Kids AquaZone at CenturyLink Field Event Center:

Aqua Paddlers:  Kids can enjoy time on the water using the Aqua Paddler paddle boats. Life jackets will be provided. (Daily) On weekends there will even be a mermaid at the pool who the kids can interact with.

Rain Gutter Sailboat Regatta Racing: It is full speed ahead as kids race sailboats down two two-lane water-filled tracks measuring more than nine feet. (Daily)

Beach Camp Fun: The fun staff from Beach Camp at Sunset Bay will be on hand to help with sandcastle building, skim board balance boarding, a coloring table, and the photo booth backdrops with face cutout bubbleheads. (Daily)

The Sailing Foundation: Sailing instructors will help kids test their skills at knot tying or their knowledge by labeling boat parts.  There’s also the block and tackle tug-of-war, giant jenga wooden blocks, corn hole and plenty of other arts and crafts. (Daily)

Scavenger Hunt: Kids who collect just three stickers at participating companies throughout the show will win a beach ball. It’s a great way for mom and dad to be able to walk the entire show and at the same time keep the kids entertained. (Daily)

Wakeboard Trampoline Tricks and Demos: Professional wakeboarders will be demonstrating cool and impressive tricks on weekends on a 13’x13’ Springfree trampoline. When not being used for demos, kids and adults alike can test jump on the world’s safest trampoline and enter to win their own trampoline. (Daily free test jumping)

South Lake Union:

Free Boat Rides for Parents and Kids on an All-Electric Boat
The 20-minute guided tours in all electric 21′ enclosed, heated Duffy boats will point out fun facts about South Lake Union and the unique qualities of the spectacular yachts in the show. It’s a great way to see the show from a new perspective. Blankets are provided for an added snuggle factor. (Daily)

 

Celebrate Valentine’s Day (a little early!) with the lions, jaguars, snow leopards, meerkats and other animals at Woodland Park Zoo. The animals will be celebrating cupid’s holiday the wild way with heart-shaped ice pops made of fruit juice, honey, strawberries and cranberries, herbal bouquets, heart-shaped steaks and more sweet treats.

The romantic treats are part of the zoo’s animal care program to help enrich the lives of the zoo’s animals, promote natural animal behavior, keep animals mentally stimulated, and engage zoo visitors.

Experience the world in-miniature at the annual Northwest Scale Modelers Show. This massive show will feature hundreds of model aircraft, cars, tanks, ships, spacecraft and more from the NWSM member collections. Plus, meet expert modelers and learn about the fascinating hobby of scale modeling. The event will also feature modeling seminars and free make-and-take activities for families.
