Now in its Fourth year, the Lents Street Fair is a fun, free, family-friendly summer celebration of community with the Lents International Farmers Market, Live Music, a Beer Garden, the Belmont goats, Lents history display, Community Booths, Face-painting, and fun activities like othe chicken beauty contest!

Head south to Kidchella, a kid’s rock festival with stars such as Emcee Andy Z, The Hipwadersm Purple Fox and the Heebie Jeebies and Alison Faith Levy’s Big Time Tot Rock. Enjoy live music along with an inflatable play land in the heart of Redwood City. Shows vary by week. For those about to rock!

 

Attend the 2018 Pickathon Music Festival for the day or entire weekend! Perfect for the entire family – adults, teens (discounted), and kids (free). Tent camping in the woods at Pendarvis Farm is included with weekend admission tickets. Arrive at the music festival by way of one of the group cycling rides or grab a parking pass and leave your vehicle in one of the lots for the weekend – weekend parking, RV parking, or car camping available.

This summer, head to Amphitheater at Sulphur Creek Nature Center for a night of nature, adventure and a cozy campfire made for marshmallow roasting. Make a bug sucker to catch small insects such as gnats, with a homemade “pooter.” Find out how small a bug you can really catch.

Participants will complete a one mile race course complete with surprise physical obstacles designed to test their physical endurance – for kids only!

Dancing and singing are encouraged at this interactive performance by dynamic duo Chen Lo and Asante Amin. Together with an MC, a DJ, horns, and vocalists, Lo and Amin chronicle the joys of travel and cultural exploration using their signature blend of hip-hop, jazz, funk, soul, and Afrobeat rhythms.

They’ve performed at the Super Bowl, in an Oscar-winning movie (Birdman), and as part of the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, and now this 60-member drumline and dance team brings its high-energy artistry to Josie Robertson Plaza.

Learn to dance with one of the world’s most celebrated contemporary dance companies. For this special all-ages, all-abilities class, participants will have the chance to dance steps from Mark Morris’s Love Song Waltzes, which will be performed in August at the Mostly Mozart Festival.

Kids’ music superstar Laurie Berkner will celebrate the release of her new picture book, “Monster Boogie,” with a free performance of several songs, including her beloved “Monster Boogie” song, author reading, and book signing/meet-and-greet.

What was it like to be a kid on the Lower East Side in the early 20th century? Families will find out this summer on this guided walk following in the footsteps of Ella, Henny, Sarah, Charlotte, and Gertie, the beloved sisters depicted in Sydney Taylor’s classic All-of-a-Kind Family series. The tour starts at the Museum and continues out on the streets, including spots where the children played, prayed and purchased their pickles and candy.
