Level up through time and look at the vast world of gaming at Curiosity Days: Games. Local gaming aficionados will pack the Pacific Science Center with hands-on demonstrations and workshops at this weekend-long event.

It’s a big month for Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap! National Mac & Cheese Day is July 14 and Jake’s is celebrating with BBQ Spaghetti made with BBQ sauce mixed with peppers, onions, pork, brisket and topped with shredded cheddar and fresh parsley. That’s not all, July 29th is also International Chicken Wing Day and Jake’s is offering Cherry Bomb Wings, which are jumbo wings fried until crispy and tossed with their house-made cherry BBQ sauce and garnished with fresh cherries and blue cheese crumbles. Both the spaghetti and wings are available all July long for your eating pleasure.

The Craft Factory is teaming up with Nectar Frozen Yogurt Lounge, right across the road, to combine treats you can craft with treats you can eat. First, stop by The Craft Factory to craft a cone that won’t melt, then head across the road to receive some frozen yogurt for free from Nectar.

At this fair, families can learn how to live a more sustainable life while having fun in the sun. Kids can visit the KIDZone to get a solar mini car, build a birdhouse and make their own trail mix. On the KIDZone stage, catch the Latona Familiy Band at 11 a.m., the Bubbleman at noon, the Brian Waite Band at 1 p.m. and circus arts and a unicycle in the afternoon.

Talk to local solar installers and see what solar solutions are right for you and visit booths that highlight products, services and information to help you make choices that will help leave a cleaner, safer planet for our children. You can also see the latest in electric transportation and test ride an electric bike and don’t forget to bring your outdated electronics for recycling and join the Seattle Barter Fair from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Families can also participate in workshops that focus on disaster prepardness in this time of rapid climate change and enjoy the low carbon, high joy, food and entertainment.

Note: Girl Scouts of all ages can earn their Sun Patch at the festival. Scouts can receive their Solar Passport at the Information Booth—visit 5 stations, ask questions and participate in the activities on the worksheet.

Drop off the kids for a fun evening of pizza, science and Museum play time while you enjoy a night out! At Wondrous Wildlife, kids will explore the natural world as they learn about predators and prey and get a closer look at the pelts and skulls of the animals that inhabit the Pacific Northwest. Pre-registration required.
