From the web to White House, Joy Cho is the ultimate blogging success story. The Oh Joy brand was originally her graphic design studio in 2005, where she designed packaging, logos, and branding for fashion and food companies. The blog part was her way to share daily inspirations and served as an unintended marketing tool for her design business. The rest, as they say, is history. Over the next 11 years, the blog grew to include mostly original content, and now Oh Joy includes multiple product lines (sold at Target), how-to lifestyle videos, and a daily blog with a focus on design, fashion, food, and joyful moments from everyday life—all overseen by the unbelievably creative joy Cho, mother to Ruby, 5, and Coco, 2. This year, Joy was asked by the White House to design the Easter eggs for the 2016 White House Easter Egg Roll, and was invited to D.C. to meet the President and First Lady.
Proud Moment: "I am a second-degree black belt in karate and would totally be teaching kids’ karate still if I wasn’t doing my current job."
Words of Wisdom: "As women, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to take on everything. Please know that you should not do it all...because you can't, and no one can. You should do the things that are most important to you. Place priority on the things and the people that you love most. And let everything else come second."
