Take a Parents-Only Getaway to the Newly Remodeled Salish Lodge & Spa

There’s no denying that we love our kids to the moon and back. But we also understand the truth in the saying, “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” Increase your fondness quotient with a parents-only getaway to Seattle’s premiere luxury hotel resort and spa in Snoqualmie. The Salish Lodge & Spa offers luxury amenities, award-winning spa services and dining options and newly renovated guest rooms. If you’re ready to recharge your parenting batteries with a serious dose of R&R, dial up the grands and read on.

Each Guest Room Is a Luxury Retreat
Whether you’re looking for a spacious suite to spread out in, a patio suite with a stunning corner view of the Snoqualmie River or a classic mountainside room, Salish Lodge & Spa’s 86 newly renovated guest rooms (a $12 million project and the largest property improvement initiative undertaken at Salish since 1988), each reflect the calm, contemplative environment of the Pacific Northwest. Locally crafted furnishings that incorporate natural textures, woods and organic fabrics are used throughout the 86 guest rooms and pay tribute to Salish Lodge & Spa’s legacy and natural surroundings. The upgraded features and amenities are also inspired by the Lodge’s distinctive heritage.

All of the guest rooms feature premium mattresses with gel memory foam and extra thick plush top quilting, high-quality Parachute feather bedding and a variety of pillows to choose from. Yes, you read that right! Salish Lodge & Spa now offers its guests a complimentary pillow menu which includes pregnancy pillows, lavender infused pillows and memory foam pillows, so you’ll have no problem drifting off into dreamland during your stay. Other thoughtful touches in the redesigned rooms include cathedral ceilings, gas fireplaces, large spa-like showers with dual showerheads or oversized soaking tubs, Pacific Northwest-inspired furniture crafted in Washington state, copper kettles and pour over coffee service (you’ll never want to go back to your Keurig again) as well as cozy throws, 50-inch HD flat screen televisions and beautiful views of Snoqualmie Falls. Rooms also include a balcony, patio or chaise lounge—perfect for kicking back and reading a book while listening to the roar of the Falls.

Room Add-Ons
To make your Salish Lodge & Spa getaway even more memorable and oh-so relaxing, we suggest adding the Club 268 experience to your stay. Named after the breathtaking 268-foot waterfall, Club 268 includes all-day access to the Spa soaking pools and 20 percent off all Spa retail, access to the resort’s lobby-level lounge which includes a light continental breakfast, wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., all day non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, a large wood-burning fireplace and 75-inch HDTV as well as in-room Salish shower amenities (think: invigorating body scrub, whipped body butter and essential oil aromatherapy). Psst…be sure to check the resort’s website for last-minute deals, including Twin Peaks-themed packages, spa and four-star dinner experiences and babymoon offers.

A Spa Experience with Specialized Services
The award-winning Spa at Salish Lodge is the perfect place for parents to escape from the everyday and pamper themselves with head to toe services. Upon entering the Spa, you’ll immediately feel the calm come over you as you breathe in the soothing aromas of cedar and eucalyptus and take in the natural surroundings which reflect the contemplative environment of the Pacific Northwest. (We guarantee those toddler tantrums will become just a distant memory once you step foot in the Spa). Treatments range from massages for both individuals and couples, to facials, body scrubs and therapies and clay wraps from expert practitioners.

Award-Winning Dining Experiences
The Salish Lodge & Spa has gone to great lengths to provide its guests with a fab hotel experience that reflects the true roots of the Pacific Northwest’s environment. This includes bringing fresh, Pacific Northwest cuisine to its menus. From vibrant seasonal ingredients from local purveyors, growers and farms, to herbs, veggies and berries harvested right from its own Chef’s Garden on site, the dining experience at Salish Lodge & Spa is nothing shy of impeccable.

The Dining Room at Salish Lodge & Spa is the resort’s premier dining option and provides amazing views of the Snoqualmie Falls and Snoqualmie River along with a first-of-the-season experience. Start your morning off with a Country Breakfast, a Salish Lodge tradition featuring four courses, including the resort’s famous steel-cut oats and its iconic Honey from Heaven service where honey from the resort’s hives is poured from high above your plate onto buttery house-made biscuits. Simply delish! During dinner hours, The Dining Room becomes an even more magical experience with the sun setting in the distance and the Falls crashing below. Choose from an extraordinary line-up of dishes including Alaskan halibut, Chinook salmon and 28-day dry aged Washington Angus Beef from St. Helens Ranch. The dinner menu also features an extensive wine list including the resort’s own private label still and sparkling wines and desserts that will take your taste buds to a whole new level. Psst…be sure to save room for the Baked Snoqualmie which includes a chilled Salish honey mouse, huckleberry compote, Speculaas cookie and torched meringue.

The Attic is another fantastic dining option that is open daily for lunch, dinner and happy hour. This casual and comfortable eatery, which also offers spectacular views of Snoqualmie Falls, features a stone hearth pizza oven (you’ve gotta try the Cellar Pear and Smoked Prosciutto Pizza with goat cheese crème fraîche, caramelized onion, mozzarella, arugula and balsamic reduction), soups, salads, hearty sandwiches with house made chips and large plate combinations like the Wild Mushroom Truffle Mac n’ Cheese, Cast Iron Hunter’s Stew and House Smoked Baby Back Ribs. The Attic also features a completely updated bar offering Pike Hive Five Hopped Honey Ale produced by The Pike Brewing Company, Salish honey-flavored vodka and private label wines.

Activities, Adventures & Attractions
If you decide you want to venture out of your guest room (which means slipping out of your comfy hotel robe and slippers) to see the area’s sights, the Snoqualmie Falls is obviously the big attraction here. Take a leisurely stroll over to the two-acre park (it’s just steps away from the resort) where you will find an observation deck and the best spot to view the powerful 268-foot waterfall. If you’re feeling a bit adventurous, head down to the lower observation deck (it’s a half-mile hike down a well-manicured trail) where you can get a unique view from below and even hang out along the banks of the Snoqualmie River. The park is open from dawn ’til dusk and lights illuminate the falls in the evening. Be sure to check it out at night!

The town of Snoqualmie, just a short drive from Salish Lodge & Spa, features a charming historic downtown district and is home to the Northwest Railway Museum and a variety of restaurants and unique shops, including the local Snoqualmie Candy Factory and Café—sure to help satisfy any sweet cravings. The city of North Bend, just four-and-a-half miles away, is another fun place to explore and it’s where Twin Peaks fans will find Twede’s Café (known for its breakfasts, burgers and cherry pie), Georgia’s Bakery Cafe & Deli, a working 1941 movie theater and the North Bend Premium Outlets.
