"To get in the fall harvest spirit, it's our family tradition to visit Julian, a historic gold rush mountain town about an hour away.  Each year, we visit a different apple orchard in the Julian area. This year, we went to Volcan Valley Apple Farm.  It was perfect for our three-year old son because the trees are low enough that he could pick the apples by himself. After apple picking, we always head to downtown Julian and check out the adorable gift stores.  Before leaving, we stop by Julian Pie company for some freshly-baked, delicious pumpkin pie.  And then we make apple crisp with the apples that we picked at home.  Be sure to go picking early in the apple season as the apple orchards will close when they run out of apples and sometimes that's in early October."

What’s your family’s favorite fall activity (phew, say that five times fast!)?
