Filming for season three has already begun and we’re getting a first-hand look

It’s been a few months since the official announcement was made that we’d be getting a season three for Sweet Magnolias, and it looks like production has finally started on the Netflix show! Thanks to some cast sneak peaks, it’s been confirmed the gang is back together.

Heather Headley, who plays Helen Decatur, recently shared a photo with the sweet words we’ve been longing to hear. “An ugly and angry storm blew over us while filming last night.” Pour one out!

Headley also went on to share more candids including director Norman Buckley, Anneliese Judge who plays Annie and Dion Johnstone who plays Erik.

The photos shared by cast and crew just reaffirm what so many fans love about the show: that it’s a family. Buckley has shared in the past that Sweet Magnolias “reminds me of my youth. I grew up in Fort Worth, and even though the show is set in South Carolina, there’s a lot of things that remind me of the experience I had growing up…I think that what I love about ‘Magnolias’ is that idea of community. You are part of a community and you are lifted up by your neighbors.”

We’ve also got confirmation the show is in full swing thanks to JoAnna Garcia Swisher’s recent post that Maddie’s lob haircut is back––bless her heart for sharing!

Since it was just announced in May that there would be a third season of the show, it will still be quite some time before we can actually watch the finished product. Likely, it will be 10 episodes and probably take 3-4 months of production. According to What’s on Netflix, fans should expect to be able to feast their eyes on the town of Serenity in mid-2023.

In the meantime, you can catch seasons one and two on Netflix.
