Tis the season — Wendy’s just introduced a peppermint Frosty for the holidays and we can’t wait to do a taste test

Move over Starbucks. There’s a new holiday treat in town, and just in time to help us celebrate the season — Wendy’s just announced that it’s introducing a peppermint Frosty this year, and this article is going to have to wait while I find a Wendy’s near me that’s open at 8:30 a.m. so I can hit that drive-thru real quick.

The new Frosty flavor hit Wendy’s stores nationwide on Nov. 15, so they should already be available to order in-store or through the Wendy’s app at your nearest location. The new flavor is just as thick and creamy as the familiar chocolate and vanilla versions, but with “bursts of fresh peppermint,” according to a press release from Wendy’s.

“The Peppermint Frosty is our latest flavor innovation on the iconic Wendy’s Frosty that fans have come to know and love for over 50 years,” the release reads. TIL Frosties are five decades old, and I can think of no better way to celebrate this fast food mainstay than with a festive, minty treat.

Wendy’s has been getting a bit experimental with its classic frozen treats as of late. Over the summer, the chain introduced us to its first seasonal Frosty flavor: strawberry. Apparently, those treats were so successful and well-loved that Wendy’s considered them a success and decided to branch out once again, with a festive take on the classic dessert. We can do nothing but support that choice.

But there’s even more good news for Frosty lovers: In addition to the peppermint Frosty, Wendy’s is bringing back its fan-favorite Frosty Key Tags, which cost $2 and allow you to receive a full year’s worth of free Jr. Frosties with the purchase of any item. The Key Tags are available now through Jan. 29, 2023, and all proceeds will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. That’s $2 well spent, if you ask us.
