Here’s How to Get One from Krispy Kreme photo: simone.brunnozi via Flickr Being a stay at home parent has plenty of advantages (like not needing to pay for childcare) but one of the downsides is the loss of income. Working from home gives you the best of both worlds, but it’s not always easy to find a flexible position that enables you to work remotely. That’s why Amazon’s recent announcement to add thousands of new hires is so exciting. Amazon has always held a unique business model, so it should it come as no surprise that the company plans to expand its employee pool to add 5,000 new jobs, all of which are flexible positions that can be done from home. The new jobs will be in the customer service department, and many of them will come with benefits — which is pretty rare in the world of part-time, home-based work. The pay rate and hours haven’t been announced, though according to INC it is rumored to be an hourly rate around $10. The real boon, however, are the benefits. According to Amazon, any employee working twenty hours or more is eligible for the company’s generous benefit package, which includes health insurance, vacation and sick time, and even a tuition payment program that pre-pays 95 percent of tuition for courses related to in-demand fields.
