Whether your little one can’t see out from under their unruly mop, or you just want to neaten things up, your tinybean’s first trip to the salon can be made much easier if you PREPARE.
Here are some ideas for the days and weeks leading up to the appointment:
• Try role playing the full experience with a doll or teddy bear.
• Take turns playing salon. The “client” needs to sit still while the stylist sprays the hair with a small water bottle and combs the hair out.
• If possible, take your kiddo to the salon/barber to see another family member get their hair cut.
• Consider using the word “trim” instead of “cut” so they don’t associate it with pain.
