Make the Ceiling Count

Santa Monica-based interior designer Copper Gyer of Copper Gyer Design used a rainbow watercolor wallpaper from Black Crow Studios as a focal point when crafting her daughter’s nursery. “Since we currently live in a apartment with standard chalk white walls, the removable and reusable watercolor wallpaper from Black Crowe studios was a perfect fit,” Gyer explains. “Using it on the ceiling is a more sophisticated take on the accent wall. Since people spend a lot of time looking at the ceiling in a bedroom, babies included, it's important to incorporate the ceiling into the design of a space,” she suggests. Gyer mixes candy-colored accessories with modern Bertoia side chairs and a David Netto crib over a gold and white acid-washed cowhide rug. “The nursery is for the parents, too,” Gyer states.
