Barbie has been making headlines the last few years with the addition of a diverse range of looks for an otherwise traditional toy. Now, she’s getting even more progressive by taking a stand for LGBTQ rights.

A recent Instagram post on the Official BarbieStyle account features a picture of the iconic doll with a very inspiring message. In the post Barbie is dressed in a t-shirt that reads “Love Wins,” while the caption reads, “Proud to wear this Love Wins shirt…” The t-shirt is a collaboration with fashion blogger Aimee Song. After Mattel made a personalized Barbie doll for her, which is the one seated next to Barbie, Song wanted to dress her up in support of her own beliefs.
The look is modeled after a t-shirt Song sells in her own clothing collection Two Songs. Proceeds from the sale of the top benefit the Trevor Project which helps youth in the LGBTQ community. Barbie has been a huge part of life for generations of young girls, so its wonderful to see her grow and evolve as she continues to inspire kids around the world.
