As we watch the events in Ukraine unfold in real time, many of us feel completely helpless, but there are actually a number of ways you can aid the thousands of refugees fleeing to safety. One of our fave celeb couples is doing just that.

Just two days ago, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds shared that they would match all donations up to $1M to USA for UNHCR, an organization on the ground providing critical aid and who is working with neighboring countries to provide protection. That was over the weekend––and by yesterday the couple’s pledge became a reality when they hit their match limit!

The USA for UNHCR website donation page shared the happy news, “Because of an outpouring of compassion, we have reached the match limit, but we hope you will still join Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in making an emergency gift to help Ukrainian families.”

Even though the Lively/Reynolds match goal is fully funded, you can still donate and provide meaningful and necessary aid to Ukraine and other refugees. Sixty dollars will provide clean water for 60 refugees, $120 provides tarps for eight family shelters, $240 gives education grants for eight children to attend school and $1,000 will keep 500 refugees from sleeping on the ground by providing mats.

You can also donate in any other dollar amount that feels right to you, in addition to monthly recurring options.

This isn’t the first time the power couple have used their power for good. Over the years, they’ve donated to organizations to fight hunger, the NAACP Legal Defense and Education fund, the ACLU as well as a Canadian group that supports an Indigenous youth mentor program.
