Die hard fans of the first season of Bridgerton are probably still mourning the fact that The Duke of Hastings (played by Regé Jean Page) will not be making an appearance in any of the episodes of season two. But in the season two trailer, which was released this week, fans do get a glimpse of his family. That’s right, Daphne and Simon’s baby shows up in the trailer — and reminds us all we won’t get the satisfaction of seeing this adorable family together.

Again, those die hard Page fans may think there isn’t another leading man who could capture our, ahem, attention as much as he did. But in this trailer, Anthony Bridgerton (played by Jonathan Bailey) is really pulling his weight. The electricity between he and Kate Sharma (played by Simone Ashley) is so palpable there’s practically sparks coming right off the screen. There was even a nod to the sparks that flew between Simon and Daphne in season one, when Bailey passes Ashley and we see their two fingers almost magnetically try to connect.

Whew!

Nothing like a good romance to unwind at the end of the day, and Bridgerton’s got enough of it. Coupled with the fact that we now know who Lady Whistledown is, the drama is going to be just too good. And since we know that the show has already been renewed for seasons three and four, we’d like to officially make a request that Simon returns. Somehow.

“This two-season pickup is a strong vote of confidence in our work and  I feel incredibly grateful to have partners as collaborative and creative as Netflix,” Shonda Rhimes said in a release of the news of the series being renewed to season four. “Betsy and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue bringing the world of Bridgerton to a worldwide audience.”
