“Rooting for You” illustrated by Matthew Cordell

The scoop: Sometimes, we all need a cheerleader, rooting for us to do our best. Thanks to this book you get a taste of that spirit in a simple, relatable way. "Rooting for You," which was illustrated by Chicagoan Matthew Cordell and written by Susan Hood, tells the story of one small seed; while it was his time to come out of his shell, he was terrified of the dangers and obstacles that awaited. Friendship comes to his rescue and gives him the opportunity to have his day in the sun -- embracing and enjoying it. This is the 24th children’s book that Cordell has illustrated.

Buy it locally: at Unabridged Bookstore, 3251 N. Broadway St., Lakeview (773-883-9119 or unabridgedbookstore.com).
