Kids love construction projects. Well, how about a few completed projects that look like they stepped out of a fairy tale, were crafted out of 20 years worth of junk, or seemed to be swaying to the music? The Futuro is Here – Royse City, Tx

No more than 100 of architect Matti Suuronen’s portable ski chalets were produced and now, less than 50 can still be found across America. Made of 16 different fiberglass pieces, the lodging could be dismantled and moved from spot to spot. Clearly ahead of its time (or just too wacky), the housing trend didn’t catch on. This one in Royse City is now a designated landmark.
