Whether you’re a big buff or a little buff, these historic sites, antique collections, and interactive exhibits will keep you clickety-clacking down the track. Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad and Museum – Elbe, Wa

A celebration of logging and locomotives, the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad and Museum in Elbe has rightfully earned its name. After boarding the old train cars in Elbe, families will travel over rivers and through woods, catching glimpses of snow-capped Rainier (pre-money shot) before arriving at the museum in Mineral about 40 minutes away. On display are rare and vintage logging locomotives and artifacts set to impress the train buff in your fam.

Insider Tip: October’s The Great Pumpkin Pumpkin Patch Express is a family fave, and parents love the Wine Express, featuring bold pours from local northwest vineyards.
