The IKEA 2019 Catalog Is Here & the Swedes Have Gone Rad for Retro

Whether you’re on the hunt to fill your soon-to-be college student’s dorm or you’re just redecorating because…well why not, the 2019 IKEA catalog is here and there’s plenty of fab finds. Seriously. You won’t want to miss what the Swedish superstore has on tap for the new shopping year, and it’s a big one for the company: 2019 marks IKEA’s 75th anniversary. To celebrate, IKEA has a whole host of retro-chic must-haves.

Shideh Hashemi, Marketing Manager for IKEA U.S. said in a statement, “In our 2019 catalog, we are thrilled to introduce a multitude of exciting new products that stay true to our heritage, providing form and function that’s both easy on our wallets and our planet.” Yay!

Here are some of our favorite retro throwback styles that IKEA has in store for us in 2019.

Strandmon Children’s Armchair

Yep, it’s an armchair for kids. The Strandmon ($99) is the pint-sized equivalent of the classic standard. And your kiddo is going to love it.

Murbinka Cushion Cover

Add a little mod to your living space with the Murbinka cushion cover ($6.99). The easy on-off zipper makes it ideal for mamas who need to do a quick change up after the kiddos spill juice, jelly and everything else on it.

Grönlid Sectional

The Grönlid Sectional, ($865) 3-seat corner couch, is extra-deep and comes in a variety shapes/sizes. If you’re not in the market for a new couch, the Grönlid Chaise ($350) is a smaller option that’s equally as comfy. It’s got a classic sectional look, but is still completely modern too!

Pax Wardrobe

This is the perfect storage solution for rooms that have small-sized closets. If you’re looking for a reasonably-priced wardrobe the Pax ($407) model will fit the bill.

Burvik Side Table

The Burvik side table ($49.99) is style at a totally accessible price. This little pop of color will add the accent you’re looking for in the living room, family room or even your bedroom! Think old school bar cart appeal, with an end table feel.

Sandared Pouffe

If you need extra seating or a retro-chic ottoman, the Sandared pouffe ($69.99) is an interesting option. The knitted cover comes in a variety of colors and patterns to fit every decor style.

Billy Bookcase

Talk about retro! The Billy bookcase is an IKEA standard. Originally launched in 1979, IKEA estimates that one is sold every five seconds. Whoa! The 2019 version ($169) has super-stylish glass doors that will dress up your dining space or living room.

Tjena Storage Box

Who needs more storage solutions? You do! The Tjena storage box ($1.99) is perfect for those small-sized items (like your phone’s charger) that always seem to get lost in the black hole that is your home. And this simple box has a ridiculously rad print too.
