Donnie Osmond surprised Jennifer Garner during a pre-50th birthday celebration with a sweet pre-recorded message. Then he snuck up behind her IRL with a cake, a song and a childhood-dream-come-true. She did what any starstruck super fan would do. She lost her freaking mind.

“Jennifer! It’s your birthday!” Osmond exclaimed, sneaking up behind her as she watched his personalized video message to her. Garner, who has often talked about her childhood infatuation with Osmond, nearly fell out of her chair, but was able to regain her composure by shedding a layer. We get it. We get hot when we get nervous, too, Jen.

Osmond’s video message wasn’t the only thing he’d personalized for the star. He came bearing a cake, which read “13 Going on 50! Love Donny!” written in icing—a nod to Garner’s famed movie, 13 Going on 30, where her character is also obsessed with Osmond. The duo then sang Donny & Marie’s 1975 hit “Make the World Go Away” at the table, and it was as though they were the only two people left in the world.

Garner has made no secret of her admiration of Osmond. Fans across the world related to her when she admitted that former teen idol Donny Osmond has always had a soft spot in her heart. “My number one biggest crush of all time @donnyosmond,” the 13 Going on 30 star wrote, adding a blowing-kiss emoji to a Today post featuring a throwback video of The Osmonds.

So when she captioned the video of her birthday surprise “My first (pre)birthday surprise was a doozy — the one and only, legend in his own time, object of my childhood adoration and devotion— @donnyosmond showed up to knock my purple socks off,” fans everywhere knew just what a big deal it actually was to Garner.

Osmond said in his own TikTok post that “Surprising fans is one of my favorite things to do, so when I had the opportunity to surprise the lovely @Jen Garner for her 50th birthday, I was overjoyed.”  He added “Thanks for letting me celebrate with you! Next time you’re in Vegas, come see me at @Harrah’s Vegas so you can be my special guest on stage. 😉🎂”

“He took an hour and a half of his day to sit with me, sing my favorites, and to give me a master class on how to be a class act,” she gushed. “Thank you, Donny. 💜 Hi, @marieosmond. ☺️ I hope to meet you someday, Debbie.”
