Katy Perry has given birth to a baby girl named Daisy Dove Bloom. The singer and partner Orlando Bloom confirmed the birth on Instagram on Thursday. Both shared a post by charity Unicef, of which the couple are ambassadors, confirming the arrival of their daughter along with a black and white photograph of the cuple holding their child’s hand. Perry’s nail has a sweet Daisy painted on it in honor of her new daughter.

Posted @withregram • @unicef Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy.⠀ ⠀ “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” Katy and Orlando told us.⠀ ⠀ “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was. Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.⠀ ⠀ “As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, we know UNICEF is there, on the ground, doing whatever it takes to make sure every expecting mother has access to a trained health worker and access to quality healthcare. In celebration of the heart we know our daughter already has, we have set up a donation page to celebrate DDB’s arrival. By supporting them, you are supporting a safe start to life and reimagining a healthier world for every child. We hope your ♥️ can bloom with generosity.⠀ ⠀ Gratefully-⠀ ⠀ Katy & Orlando.”⠀ ⠀ Please tap the link in our bio to support the most precious gift: a healthy child.

This has been an unprecedented year for high school seniors. School districts are working hard to give the seniors the best and most socially distant send-off they can. Bus drivers from two different school districts came up with a fun way to honor the Class of 2020.

Windsor bus drivers gave a special salute to the senior class May 8 using 22 buses to spell out, “2020” in the Windsor Central High School parking lot.

Senior Bus Tribute

In addition to spelling out “2020” with buses, the drivers also wrote the names of each Windsor senior between the buses.

“We wanted to show them we care. It’s our way of saying goodbye and letting them know they aren’t forgotten,” said Windsor bus driver Nancy Flanagan. “They grow up with us. They first get on our bus when they’re four years old.”

Bus drivers from the Lovelands City School District in Ohio also had the same idea.

One of the district’s long-time school bus drivers, Lisa Moorhead, brought the idea to the Chief Information Officer, Susanne Quigley. After reaching out the Jim Barret the high school photography teacher who was able to implement a drone to take the aerial shot.

Moorhead along with a team of drivers moved 22 buses to the high school parking lot. It took two hours to create the formation.

“Some of us have been around long enough to transport these kids since Kindergarten and some of us have only been working with the district for a few years, but the one thing we all have in common is the love for our students.  This is a huge accomplishment and anyway we can show them some love, we will do it.  So here’s to the Class of 2020.  Your bus drivers are proud of all of you,”said Jennifer Bloom Bowman, a bus driver for the district.

Forget the candy and flowers, this year give the gift of heart-shaped succulents! As usual, Trader Joe’s is on point when it comes to festive foods and florals, and on a recent trip to the grocery we spied some adorable Valentine’s Day gifts.

If you’re looking for a larger gift, you’ll love the heart-shaped planter that contains eight different blooms in a metal container. The gorgeous succulents can easily be grown in the planter or transplanted once they get too big.

Perfect for a teacher gift, the Hoya “Sweet Heart” comes in two options. Choose from a red or white container with opposite colored polka-dots and an adorable heart-shaped bloom.

You’ll find the festive succulents usually in front of the store for a limited time.

Peppa Pig fans can expect a change. According to a recent report from CNN, 18-year-old Harley Bird will no longer voice the title role of Peppa.

So who will replace Bird as the voice of the show’s title character? Reportedly, nine-year-old Amelie Bea Smith will become the next Peppa as of February.

Show co-creators Neville Astley and Mark Baker told CNN, “We’re delighted to welcome Amelie to the Peppa Pig voice cast and confident that she will continue the strong legacy of the previous Peppa voice actors.”

Bird, who has voiced the character for 13 years, previously won a BAFTA award for her work on the popular show. Even though Bird holds the role as the longest standing voice of Peppa Pig, she isn’t the only actress who has played the role. Lily Snowden-Fine and Cecily Bloom previously voiced the character.

So your little drummer boy (or girl) has graduated from the mommy-and-me type music class, but isn’t quite ready to join a band? Fortunately, Los Angeles has plenty of rockstar-in-training options for the post-nursery rhyme set. Read on for the best group music classes (plus a few bonus activities) for kids ages 3 and up. Rock on!

School of Rock

The original rock-and-roll kids school, which has outposts throughout LA, welcomes kids as young as 3 to their Little Wing class. (And we're not too proud to admit that we had no idea Little Wings referred to a Jimi Hendrix until we Googled it.) The classes are kids only—no grown ups allowed. But the teachers, all rockers themselves, are sure to win your little one over as they learn learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play. Try a first class free and then pay monthly.

Kid Row

Kid Row's tagline says it all: The antithesis of the boring piano lesson. Founded by a husband and wife team, Kid Row offers private and group lessons, including Little Kid Row, for students ages 3-6. The introductory group lesson teaches future rockers basic musical principles through song, instruments and movement. Each month also includes a "band rehearsal" where kids can jam with their pals. And, of course, there are no recitals here—only a full-on rock concert at the end of the session. (The winter session has already started, but stay tuned for the spring season, starting May 4.)

Silverlake Conservatory of Music

This music academy has serious street cred—it was founded by Red Hot Chili Pepper’s bassist Flea (who is also a classically trained trumpet player). While the conservatory offers private lessons on guitar, drums and more to kids ages 5 and up, younger aspiring rockers, ages 4-6, can try out Bang! Zoom. The class gives little ones an intro to music, rhythm and melody through singing, drumming, movement and even early notation (as in reading musical notes).

Bloom School of Music & Dance

Bloom School of Music & Dance via Yelp

Check out both Intro to Music Fundamentals (for ages 3-5) and Music Fundamentals (ages 5-7) at this popular music and dance school in Eagle Rock. In the intro class, little ones will learn about pitch, rhythm, instruments and more. Then, by the time they complete the subsequent level, they'll have the experience of composing and improvising their own music. Which makes us a little bit jealous.

GRAMMY Museum

With interactive exhibits, recording booths, musical instruments you can play and more, this downtown museums is a must for musicians of all ages. (Added bonus: kids 5 and under are free.) And starting Feb. 1, 2020, Sensory Friendly Saturdays returns, giving little ones with sensory sensitivities a chance to experience the museum with fewer crowds, quieter sound levels and lower lighting,

Guitar Center

While we can't vouch for every Guitar Center location, we have staked out the Sherman Oaks outpost and the place is a haven for music-loving kids. There's a guitar room where kids can strum away (carefully and with parental supervision, of course). In the back, you'll find the percussion section, which includes electronic and acoustic drums, bongos, congas, djembes and even a gong. The final stop? A visit to the keyboards and nearby lighting section where kids can check out the color-changing displays.
